Two isolates of Staphylococcus xylosus (urease producer and non urease producer) were injected in mice at a dose of 2 × 108 colony-forming units (CFU) intraurethrally. Results showed that both isolates were able to colonize kidney and bladder of the injected mice, regardless of their urease production. Moreover, there were insignificant differences between the two groups. These results emphasized the pathogenicity of this bacteria in UTI.

In this paper, we established a mathematical model of an SI1I2R epidemic disease with saturated incidence and general recovery functions of the first disease I1. Considering the basic reproduction number, we obtained conditions for both disease-free and co-existing cases. The equilibrium points local stability is verified by using the Routh-Hurwitz criterion, while for the global stability, we used a suitable Lyapunov function to analyze the endemic spread of the positive equilibrium point.      One of the most causative agents for many opportunistic diseases is the Pseudomonas aeruginosa which has a high percentage of multidrug resistance disease through construction of biofilm. The current study aimed for evaluating the correlation between quorum sensing genes (which is lasI gene) and biofilm formation. The biofilm construction and antibiotics susceptibility test were achieved for all the isolates under the study. The PCR and sequencing techniques were also carried out to detect the type of variation in lasI gene for each scheme of biofilm formation (weak, strong, and moderate). High antibiotic resistance was recorded among biofilm producing isolates. The genic pattern for the weak biof
