Metal complexes of Cu (II), Fe (III) and Mn (II) with Quinaldic acid (L1) and 1, 10-Phenathroline (L2) are synthesized and characterized by standaral physic- chemical procedures (element analysis, metal analysis, FTIR, Uv-Vis, magnetic moment and conductometeric measurements). On the base of these studies, mononuclear and six coordinated octahedral geometry and nonelectrolyte of these complexes have been proposed. The standard heat of formation (?Hºf) and binding energy (?Eb) for the free ligands and their complexes are calculated by using the PM3 method at 273K of Hyperchem.-8 program. The complexes are more stable than their ligands. Moreover, the electrostatic potential of free ligands are measured to investigate the reactive site of the molecules, PM3 is used to evaluate the vibrational spectra of the free ligands, the frequencies are obtained approximately agreed with those values experimentally found; in addition, the calculation helps to assign clearly the most diagnostic bands .
The organic compound imidazole has the chemical formula C3N2H4. Numerous significant biological compounds contain imidazole. The amino acid histidine is the most prevalent. The substituted imidazole derivatives have great potential for treating a variety of systemic fungi infections. Thiourea is an organosulfur compound with the formula SC(NH2)2. It is a reagent in organic synthesis. In this paper, some new imidazole and thiourea derivatives are synthesized, characterized, and studied for their biological activity. These new compounds were synthesized from the starting material terephthalic acid, which was transformed to corresponding ester [I] by the refluxing of diacid with methanol in the presence of H2SO4 as a catalyst, compound [I] con

Show MoreThe new 4-[(7-chloro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole)azo]-4,5-diphenyl imidazole (L) have been synthesized and characterized by micro elemental and thermal analyses as well as 1H.NMR, FT-IR, and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques. (L) acts as a ligand coordinating with some metal ionsV(IV), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II). Structures of the new compounds were characterized by elemental and thermal analyses as well as FT-IR and UV-Vis Spectra. The magnetic properties and electrical conductivities of metal complexes were also determined. Study of the nature of the complexes formed in ethanol following the mole ratio method.. The work also include a theoretical treatment of the formed complexes in the gas phase, this was done using the (hyperch

The structure of 1 azo compound was someone by elemental analyses, HNMR, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic mechanics. Metal complexes of nickel (II) and copper (II) have been performed and depicted. The formation of complexes has been identified by using flame atomic absorption, (C.H.N) Analysis, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectral process as well as, conductivity and magnetic properties quantifications. The nature of the complexes formed were studied succeed the mole ratio and continuous variation methods, Beer's law followed over a concentration 4 4 scope (1×10- - 3×10- M). High molar absorbtivity of the complex solutions were observed. Analytica

Show MoreAnew mixed compound complexes derived from 2-phenyl-2-(o-tolylamino) Acetonitrile as primary ligand (L1) and histidine (L2) as secondary ligand have been prepared and characterized by conventional techniques, elemental microanalysis (C.H.N), Fourier transform infrared, ultra violet-visible spectra, , flame atomic absorption, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility measurement and 1H-NMR spectra. From IR data which appear chelating behavior of the amino acid ligand (L2) toward transition metal ions is via carboxylate oxygen, amino nitrogen and imidazol nitrogen as tridentate ligand while second ligand (L1) chelating through N-nitrile and N-aniline, according to all above technics the octahedral shapes were expected for these complexes as

The metal complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, electrical conductance, magnetic susceptibility measurements and spectral studies. The electrical conductance studies of the complexes indicate their electrolytic nature. Magnetic susceptibility measurements revealed paramagnetic nature of the all complexes. Bonding of the metal ion through –OHand –COOgroups of bidentate to the 5-chlorosalicylic acid and through –NH2 and –COOgroups of bidentate to the L-valine by FT-IR studies . All synthesized compounds were characterized by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and FTIR spectra and aldehyde was also characterized by (U.V-Vis), 1HNMR, 13CNMR and mass spectra. They were also evaluated for antimicrobial properties by dilute method against four pathogenic bacteria (Escherichia coli ,Klebsiella pneumonae, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus Albus) and two fungal (Aspergillus Niger, Yeast). All polymer metal complexes showed good activities against the various microbial isolates. The polymer metal complexes showed higher activity than the free polymer. The order of increa
