An Ecological and Identification Study for Algae in Groundwater of Selected Area in Tikrit city and It’s Surrounding Area

The present study is carried out to identify the algae in the groundwater of the three areas of Tikrit city, including (the center of Tikrit , the region of AL-Jazira , Awainat village) by nine wells, a depths ranged between 9 meter at well 8 and 110 meter at wells 3 and 5 . And examined the environmental characteristics of physical, chemical and biological factors during the study period from September 2009 to June 2010. It is obtained that wells in the study area is lower alkalinity, average it ranged (6.448-7.418). It was noted that the values of the dissolved oxygen are few and almost non-existent in some cases it ranged between (6.5-6.3)mg/l , analysis of biological oxygen demand refers to wells water (clean- very clean) average it ranged between (1420-1990)mg/l . Reason of groundwater very hardness due to geological factors of study area, which was mostly the result of ion bicarbonates, and recorded rate values of sulphates (258.2-406.2)mg/l. As for plant nutrients, the values of silica were relatively high (7.07-10.935)mg/l .While the concentration of active nitrite ions and phosphate, were random during the study period, it ranged between(0.128-2.979),(0.564-2.065)mg/l respectively. The biological side of this involved the identifying of algal in the studies wells. Diatoms formed the highest majority of plan plankton in the study area, the ratio of diatoms was 48%, then the Chlorophyceae was 32.4%, and the ratio of Cyanophyceae was 14.2%, and lastly the Euglenophyceae was 5.1%. Chlorophyll values were relatively high , the values of chlorophyll a was lower from chlorophyll b , c values .That’s indicate dominated species of organisms in the study area. The results indicated analysis to limit many effect factors on concentration of chlorophyll in algae in the study area

Assessment of Groundwater in Al-Hawija (Kirkuk Governorate) for Irrigation Purposes.

The study area is located in Kirkuk governorate - northern Iraq, It covers an area of 630 km2.Twenty eight groundwater samples were collected from the study area during October 2012. pH, electrical conductivity(EC) and total dissolved solids (TDS) and chemical analysis of major ions (Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, K+, Cl, SO42 and HCO3) were determined. Sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), residual sodium carbonate (RSC), sodium percent (Na%) and electrical conductivity were used to evaluate the suitability of groundwater for irrigation purpose. The groundwater samples mostly have no harmful effects and no hazard in terms of SAR and RSC respectively, and permissible in terms ofNa%, but they are poor, very poor and marginal as irrigation water.

The Suitability of Tigris River Sediments from Tikrit, Northern Iraq, for Concrete Production and Road Construction Purposes

This study aims to assess the suitability of the sediments present in Tigris River, Tikrit city, northern Iraq for concrete production and road building purposes. Representative samples were collected from three selected stations at the study area using the channel modeling method. According to the grain size analysis, the sediments were classified as a type of poorly graded gravels (GP) depending on the unified soil classification system. The true specific gravity of the soil ranged between 2.28 and 2.568. The chemical analysis of the study samples revealed that gypsum content ranged between 0.82 and 1.69 %. Total soluble salts ranged 2.45- 3.87%, the organic matter content ranged 0.14- 0.76%, and the pH value was between 7.73 and 7.38%

Assessing the Groundwater Recharge with Water Balance in Ameriat Al-Falluja City, Al-Anbar Governorate, Western Iraq

This study aims to figure out how to calculate water recharge using the soil conservation service method, one of the most widely used methods for calculating runoff volume following rainfall. The research is being conducted in Ameriat Al-Falluja City, Al-Anbar Governorate. The Iraqi meteorological organization's Baghdad Airport and Al-Ramadi stations provided data on the research area from 1989 to 2020 as total annual rainfall (123.1 mm), the RH% (43%), the mean monthly T (23.6 °C), total evaporation (3169.61 mm), the wind speed (3.1 m/s), and the sunshine duration (9 h/day). The climate of the study area is described as arid. The total evapotranspiration value quantity is 1137.38 mm for the 32-year comparison period, while the

Implications of Financial Reporting Governance in rationalizing investors decisions In financial markets in light of An International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)/ An analytical study of a selected sample of the joint stock companies in Iraq

The financial crises that occurred in South East Asia and America, and the discovery of the financial and administrative corruption that affected these companies, which led to the crisis. Since then, organizations and institutions interested in accounting have begun new ways to further rationalize the management of these companies. Hence the concept of governance, which means good governance. Al-Susiya confirmed its adoption of the financial reporting standards and adopted internal and external auditing for the purpose of increasing the reliability and credibility of the financial and reports that increase the confidence of investors in making their investment decisions in the financial markets The study dealt with the contributi

Dental caries severity in relation to selected salivary variables among a group of pregnant women in Baghdad city/Iraq

Background: During pregnancy many physiological, anatomical and biochemical changes take place that affect almost all body systems. In the oral pregnant women have serious changes such as more sever dental caries. This study was conducted to measure dental caries severity and selected salivary variables (salivary flow rate, PH and viscosity)and to find the relation of dental caries with these salivary variables. Subjects, materials and methods: The study group consisted of 60 pregnant women that were divided into three equal groups according to trimester (20 pregnant women in each trimester). They were selected randomly from the Maternal and Child Health Care Centers in Baghdad city, the age range was 20-25 years. In addition to 20 unmarried

Leachate Characterization and Evaluation of Ground Water Quality Around Landfill Area Using the Canadian Council Ministers of the Environment Water Quality Index

Municipal solid waste generation, management, and dumping are economic and ecological concerns that metropolitan areas, particularly those in developing nations, must address. This study intended to ascertain the impacts of solid waste on the quality of groundwater around trash dumps located inside and surrounding landfill sites in the city of Erbil. Samples of groundwater, as well as two samples of leachate, were collected from eight wells situated near landfills during the dry and rainy seasons of August 2021 and February 2022. Several physico-chemical parameters, including pH, EC, NO2, NO3, alkalinity, HCO3, Na, Ca, Mg, Cl, SAR, total hardness, and heavy metals, were evaluated in the samples.

Novel Tamoxifen Citrate-Loaded Polymeric Nanoformulations for Improving Treatment and uses in medical applications: An In Vitro and In Vivo Study

Tamoxifen citrate (TAM) is one of the most regularly used therapy in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. Although it is a successful treatment, there is a problem with its bioavailability, accordingly this study was designed to improve TAM solubility and reduce its associated toxicity. TAM-Loaded poly (D, L-lactide –co- glycolide) nanostructure (TAM-loaded PLGA) has been synthesized and employed both in vitro and in vivo experiments. The blood hemolysis induced by TAM- loaded PLGA was 4.6 % at 200 µg mL-1, indicating that this nano-construct led to increased red blood cell protection. DNA molecule integrity was assessed and results indicated that DNA strands were protected from destruction at 200 µg mL-1. T
