Evaluation of Transfected HEP-2 Cell Line Using ß-Galactosidase Reporter Assay System
...Show More Authors

Liposome-mediated transfection of cancer cells provide a valuable experimental technique to study cellular gene expression and may also be adapted for gene therapy studies. However, the widely recognized advantage of liposome-mediated transfection is high efficiency. Therefore, this study were performed to optimize transfection techniques in human larynx carcinoma cell line Hep-2 using the commercial synthetic lipid TransFast™ Reagent and monitoring the expression efficiency by using the pSV-?-galactosidase Control Vector which encoded ?-galactosidase, maximum transfection efficiency were achieved with TransFast™ Reagent used at the Charge ratios of 2:1 and 0.5 µg DNA/ml, this is indicate that TransFast™ Reagent can be used as an efficient transfection agent to deliver foreign DNA into human larynx carcinoma cell line Hep-2 and expression of the transgene efficiently.

Synthesis, characterization and bioactivity Study from azo – ligand derived frommethyl-2-amino benzoatewith some metal ions
...Show More Authors

A Ligand (ECA) methyl 2-((1-cyano-2-ethoxy-2-oxoethyl)diazenyl)benzoate with metals of (Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+) were prepared and characterization using H-NMR, atomic absorption spectroscopy, ultra violet (UV) visible, magnetic moments measurements, bioactivity, and Molar conductivity measurements in soluble ethanol. Complexes have been prepared using a general formula which was suggested as [M (ECA)2] Cl2, where M = (Cobalt(II), Nickel(II) and Copper(II), the geometry shape of the complexes is octahedral.

Correlation between Tumor Necrosis Factor–Alfa and Anti-tyrosine Phosphatase with Obesity and Diabetes Type 2
...Show More Authors

This study was done to find a correlation between adipokines such as tumor necrosis- alpha (TNF-α)  and autoantigens such as anti-tyrosine phosphatase (IA2) with obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). For this purpose, one hundred forty adult males were selected. 90 of them were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and 50 healthy males). The subjects were divided into four groups. Group 1 had healthy controls with body mass index (BMI) between 18.5-25, group 2 had individuals who suffered from obesity only (BMI above 30), group 3 consisted of diabetes patients and group 4 had individuals who were diagnosed with both obesity and diabetes. The enzyme immunoassay was intended for quantification determination of TNF in serum. The

A New Feature-Based Method for Similarity Measurement under the Linux Operating System
...Show More Authors

This paper presents a new algorithm in an important research field which is the semantic word similarity estimation. A new feature-based algorithm is proposed for measuring the word semantic similarity for the Arabic language. It is a highly systematic language where its words exhibit elegant and rigorous logic. The score of sematic similarity between two Arabic words is calculated as a function of their common and total taxonomical features. An Arabic knowledge source is employed for extracting the taxonomical features as a set of all concepts that subsumed the concepts containing the compared words. The previously developed Arabic word benchmark datasets are used for optimizing and evaluating the proposed algorithm. In this paper,

Automatic Short Answer Grading System Based on Semantic Networks and Support Vector Machine
...Show More Authors

In education, exams are used to asses students’ acquired knowledge; however, the manual assessment of exams consumes a lot of teachers’ time and effort. In addition, educational institutions recently leaned toward distance education and e-learning due the Coronavirus pandemic. Thus, they needed to conduct exams electronically, which requires an automated assessment system. Although it is easy to develop an automated assessment system for objective questions. However, subjective questions require answers comprised of free text and are harder to automatically assess since grading them needs to semantically compare the students’ answers with the correct ones. In this paper, we present an automatic short answer grading metho

Cooling and Heating a Greenhouse in Baghdad by a Solar Assisted Desiccant System
...Show More Authors

Modeling the microclimate of a greenhouse located in Baghdad under its weather conditions to calculate the heating and cooling loads by computer simulation. Solar collectors with a V-corrugated absorber plate and an auxiliary heat source were used as a heating system. A rotary silica gel desiccant dehumidifier, a sensible heat exchanger, and an evaporative cooler were added to the collectors to form an open-cycle solar assisted desiccant cooling system. A dynamic model was adopted to predict the inside air and the soil surface temperatures of the greenhouse. These temperatures are used to predict the greenhouse heating and cooling loads through an energy balance method which takes into account the soil heat gain. This is not included in

A Haptic feedback system based on leap motion controller for prosthetic hand application
...Show More Authors

Leap Motion Controller (LMC) is a gesture sensor consists of three infrared light emitters and two infrared stereo cameras as tracking sensors. LMC translates hand movements into graphical data that are used in a variety of applications such as virtual/augmented reality and object movements control. In this work, we intend to control the movements of a prosthetic hand via (LMC) in which fingers are flexed or extended in response to hand movements. This will be carried out by passing in the data from the Leap Motion to a processing unit that processes the raw data by an open-source package (Processing i3) in order to control five servo motors using a micro-controller board. In addition, haptic setup is proposed using force sensors (F

Dynamics and an Optimal Policy for A Discrete Time System with Ricker Growth
...Show More Authors

The goal of this paper is to study dynamic behavior of a sporadic model (prey-predator). All fixed points of the model are found. We set the conditions that required to investigate the local stability of all fixed points. The model is extended to an optimal control model. The Pontryagin's maximum principle is used to achieve the optimal solutions. Finally, numerical simulations have been applied to confirm the theoretical results.

The world is currently facing a medical crisis. The epidemic has affected millions of people around the world since its appearance. This situation needs an urgent solution. Most countries have used different solutions to stop the spread of the epidemic. The World Health Organization has imposed some rules that people should adhere. The rules are such, wearing masks, quarantining infected people and social distancing. Social distancing is one of the most important solutions that have given good results to confront the emerging virus. Several systems have been developed that use artificial intelligence and deep learning to track social distancing. In this study, a system based on deep learning has been proposed. The system includes monitor

DNA Encoding for Misuse Intrusion Detection System based on UNSW-NB15 Data Set
...Show More Authors

Recent researches showed that DNA encoding and pattern matching can be used for the intrusion-detection system (IDS), with results of high rate of attack detection. The evaluation of these intrusion detection systems is based on datasets that are generated decades ago. However, numerous studies outlined that these datasets neither inclusively reflect the network traffic, nor the modern low footprint attacks, and do not cover the current network threat environment. In this paper, a new DNA encoding for misuse IDS based on UNSW-NB15 dataset is proposed. The proposed system is performed by building a DNA encoding for all values of 49 attributes. Then attack keys (based on attack signatures) are extracted and, finally, Raita algorithm is app
