Synthesis, Characterization and Preliminary Anti-inflammatory Evaluation of New Etodolac Derivatives
...Show More Authors

Three new hydrazone derivatives of Etodolac were synthesized and evaluated for their anti-inflammatory activity by using egg white induced paw edema method. All the synthesized target compounds were characterized by CHN- microanalysis, FT-IR spectroscopy, and 1HNMR analysis. The synthesis of the target (P1-P3) compounds was accomplished following multistep reaction procedures. The synthesized target compounds were found to be active in reducing paw edema thickness and their anti-inflammatory effect was comparable to that of the standard (Etodolac).

Characterization of Ag:Ni Nano Particles Produced by Pulse Nd:YAG laser
...Show More Authors

This work presents the characteristics of plasma produced by fundamental wavelength (1064 nm) Q- switched Nd:YAG laser on Ag:Ni alloy in distilled water were investigated at different laser energies by optical emission spectroscopy technique. The size of produced nanoparticles from Ag:Ni target in distilled water were studied, by x-ray diffraction, UV-visible absorbance and atomic force microscopy, at different laser energies. Spectroscopic measurements show that electron temperature and electron density increase with increasing laser energy. It was found from AFM measurements that the produced nanoparticle size decrease from 97.13 nm to 71.20 nm, while XRD shows that the crestalline size decrease from 15.5 nm to 9 nm with increasing pul

Characterization of CdS nanoparticles Prepared by Liquid – Liquid Interface Reaction
...Show More Authors

Liquid – liquid interface reaction is one of the method to prepare nanoparticles, the preparation of nanoparticles depends on the super saturation of ions which can satisfy by layered two immiscible liquid (toluene and deionized (DI) water). The XRD-diffraction analysis give a mix structure from hexagonal and cubic and the average grain size is 7.73 nm using Sherrer relation and 9.54 nm using Williamson –Hall method. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) Showed that the size of particles around 3 nm which is comparable with Bohr radius of CdS.
From UV-Visible spectrum analysis which use two model to estimate the radius of particles , the first one is effective mass approximate (EMA) model and the second one is tight binding model

EX-SITU Characterization of Luffa aegyptaica in Lagos State, Nigeria
...Show More Authors

Luffa aegyptiaca is a plant of multi-purpose importance whose usefulness cuts across virtually all areas of life. This study has characterized L. aegyptiaca in Lagos state and determined the mineral, proximate, phytochemical as well as the heavy metal accumulation potential. Samples were collected from the 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Lagos state at 2 samples per location.   Genetic similarity and intra-specific variation in 40 samples of L. aegyptiaca were determined using 3 Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA (RAPD) primers which yielded a total of 42 markers of which 25 was polymorphic. The maximum number of bands (14) was produced by OPC4 while the minimum (7) were produced by OPAF20. Percenta

Characterization of Copper Phthalocyanine-Tetrasulfonic Acid Tetrasodium Salt /Graphene Oxide
...Show More Authors

In this paper, the pure graphene oxide and copper phthalocyanine-tetrasolfonic acid tetrasodium salt were used to prepare thin films by using the spin coating method. These chemical compounds have remarkable optical properties and are chemically used in the development of device sensors by increasing the mixing ratio. Three different mixing ratios were prepared at room temperature and 150oC annealing temperature for three hours. The spectra of UV-VIS-IR absorption, photoluminescence, and Fourier-transformed infrared (FT-IR) were studied.

Characterization of Alginate with Natural Polymers Combination for Drug Encapsulation
...Show More Authors

Alginate is one of the natural biopolymers that is widely used for drug formulations, combination of alginate with other polymers, such as gum acacia, pectin, and carrageenan can increase mechanical strength, therefore, can reduce leakage of the encapsulated active pharmaceutical ingredient from the polymer matrix. Interaction of alginate and these polymers can occur via intermolecular hydrogen bonds causing synergism, which is determined from the viscosity of polymer mixture.

Alginate was combined with gum acacia/pectin/carrageenan in different blending ratios (100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, and 0:100) with and without addition of CaCl2. The synergism effect is obtained from the design of experimental (DoE), and calculati

A Characterization of Maximal Outerplanar-Open Distance Pattern Uniform Graphs
...Show More Authors

Let A ⊆ V(H) of any graph H, every node w of H be labeled using a set of numbers; , where d(w,v) denotes the distance between node w and the node v in H, known as its open A-distance pattern. A graph H is known as the open distance-pattern uniform (odpu)-graph, if there is a nonempty subset A ⊆V(H) together with  is the same for all . Here  is known as the open distance pattern uniform (odpu-) labeling of the graph H and A is known as an odpu-set of H. The minimum cardinality of vertices in any odpu-set of H, if it exists, will be known as the odpu-number of the graph H. This article gives a characterization of maximal outerplanar-odpu graphs. Also, it establishes that the possible odpu-number of an odpu-maximal outerplanar graph i

An Efficient One-Pot Approach for the Formation of Phenanthridine Derivative; Synthesis and Spectral Characterisation
...Show More Authors

The preparation of the phenanthridine derivative compound was achieved by adopting an efficient one-pot synthetic approach. The condensation of an ethanolic mixture of benzaldehyde, cyclohexanone and ammonium acetate in a 2:1:1 mole ratio resulted in the formation of the title compound. Analytical and spectroscopic techniques were used to confirm the nature of the new compound. A mechanism for the formation of the phenanthridine moiety that is based on three steps has been suggested

Synthesis, Spectroscopic and Antimicrobial Studies of Mixed Ligand Metal (II) Complexes with three amino acids
...Show More Authors

The research includes synthesis and identification of novel three amino acids ligands complexes of some heavy metal (II) ions by using the amino acids like glycine, L-alanine and L-valine. New metal mixed ligand complexes with amino acids are prepared the reaction by reacting the three amino acids with the metals(II) chloride by using 50% ethanolic solution and 50% distall water in the molar ratio [1:1:1:1] ( M:Gly:Ala:Val) except for Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes were found after diagnosis the coordination with both Lalanine and L-valine. The prepared complexes identified by using physical properties, flame atomic absorption and conductivity measurements, in addition, mass, FT.IR and UV.vis spectrum as well magnetic moment data. Synthesis and annealing process of ultra-large SnS nanosheets for FTO/SnS/CdS/Pt photocathode
...Show More Authors

SnS has been widely used in photoelectric devices due to its special band gap of 1.2-1.5 eV. Here, we reported on the fabrication of SnS nanosheets and the effect of synthesis condition together with heat treatment on its physical properties. The obtained band gap of the SnS nanosheets is in the rage of 1.37-1.41 eV. It was found that the photo-current density of a thin film comprised of SnS nanosheets could be enhanced significantly by annealing treatment. The maximum photo-current density of the stack structure of FTO/SnS/CdS/Pt was high as 389.5 mu A cm(-2), rendering its potential application in high efficiency solar hydrogen production.
