Assessment of Causality, Severity and Seriousness of Adverse Event Following Immunization in Iraq: A Retrospective Study Based on Iraqi

Immunization is one of the most cost-effective and successful public health applications. The results of immunization are difficult to see as the incidence of disease occurrence is low while adverse effects following the immunization are noticeable, particularly if the vaccine was given to apparently healthy person. High safety expectations of population regarding the vaccines so they are more prone to hesitancy regarding presence of even small risk of adverse events which may lead to loss of public trust to the vaccination programs.

Vaccine safety monitoring is needed as they now are administered to the general population and also available to special categories such as pregnant women and patients with different diseases whom not subjected to clinical trials as well as incorrect administration rout and presence of rare or delayed onset adverse events make the presence of surveillance system necessary. The aim of the current study was to measure the distribution, percentage, and frequency of adverse reactions related to vaccines administration in Iraq and to assess the causality, severity, seriousness of these adverse reactions. This study is a retrospective descriptive study for surveillance of vaccine safety conducted using Iraqi pharmacovigilance  center database from 2014 till the end of 2018 . 2116 Adverse events were included and outcomes , severity , seriousness , and causality of adverse events were assessed. Majority of adverse events following immunization cases (90.97%) were mild, non serious (94.47%) and recovered (94.23%). Most reports were for general disorders and administration site conditions and the majority were for elevated body temperature and injection site reactions .

SDPLL-Based Frequency Estimation of a Sinusoid in Colored Noise

Our estimator is based on the operation of the sinusoidal digital phase-locked loop (SDPLL) which carries the frequency information in its phase error after the noisy sinusoid has been acquired by the SDPLL. An Environmental Study of Epiphytic Algae on Ceratophyllum demersum in Tigris River within Baghdad City, Iraq

The present study was conducted in the Tigris River within Baghdad (University of Baghdad campus). The study included some physicochemical parameters and qualitative of epiphytic algae on the host plant (Ceratophyllum demersum) during summer season 2013. The results revealed that the study area was alkaline, hard and oxygenated water. A total of 105 taxa of epiphytic algae was identified. Bacillariophyceae diatoms composed 44.7% of the total and were represented by 42.4% of the order Pennales and 1.9 %of the order Centrales. A seasonal study of periphytic algae attached to the surface of river boats was conducted in Tigris river in Al Aadhamiya site for the period from October 2016 to May 2017. A total of 107 taxa of periphytic algae were identified belonging to the four classes of algae. The periphytic algae community dominated by Bacillariophyceae was (60.7%) followed by Chlorophyceae (20.5%) and Cyanophyceae (17.7%) Chrysophyceae was constituted (0.9%) of the total number. Equilibrium, thermodynamic and kinetic study of the adsorption of a new mono azo dye onto natural Iraq clay

In the present work, bentonite clay was used as an adsorbent for the removal of a new prepared mono azo dye, 4-[6-bromo benzothiazolyl azo] thymol (BTAT) using batch adsorption method. The effect of many factors like adsorption time, adsorbent weight, initial BTAT concentration and temperature has been studied. The equilibrium adsorption data was described using Langmuir and frundlich adsorption isotherm. Based on kinetics study, it was found that the adsorption process follow pseudo second order kinetics. Thermodynamics data such as Gibbes Free energy ∆Gᵒ, entropy ∆Sᵒ and ∆Hᵒ were also determined using Vant Hoff plot.
