Preparation and In Vitro Permeation of Chlopheniramine Maleate (CPM) from Gel through Rat Skin
...Show More Authors

Chlopheniramine maleate ( CPM ) , is  one  of   the  H- receptor antagonist  ,  widely used  in allergic  diseases ,like skin rash  and  pruritis .CPM 3%w/w was successfully  loaded in  2%w/w  sodium alginate (SA)    as a gel    base ,  and  to be considered   as  a  selected  formula .It was found  that  the diffusion   of  CPM    through   the  skin  of  albino  rat   was     increased   as  the concentration  of  CPM  increased from 2 %w/w sodium alginate  ,  More over , the  addition of Triethanolamine  5 % w/w,  to  sodium  alginate   2 % w/w  , loaded by  CPM 3 % w/w , enhanced the amount   of     CPM  diffuse through the skin  of albino rat . Mean while the addition  of  PEG 1000 2% w/w  , and urea 5 % w/w, separately  to       sodium alginate 2 % w/w , loaded by  CPM 3 % w/w , hindered  significantly  P<0.05 the  amount  of the drug diffused  through the skin of the rat .The  selected  formula of sodium alginate  2% w/w as a base loaded by CPM 3% w/w was  physically  acceptable , with shelf life approximately  3.3  years .

Bactericidal effect of Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm ) on Streptococcus mutans from carious teeth ,in vitro study
...Show More Authors

Dental caries (tooth decay) is one of the most prevalent infectious disease and although of multifactorial origin, Streptococcus mutans is considered the principal pathogen in its development (i.e. bacterial processes damage hard tooth structure (enamel, dentine and cementum), producing dental cavities (holes in the teeth). The bactericidal properties of the Nd:YAG laser has been researched analyzing its use in caries prevention and bacterial reduction. One hundred twenty five samples were collected from carious teeth and isolated bacteria were diagnosed using microscopic examination, culture, biochemical tests, and Api 20 strep system. The results of this study showed that a noticeable decrease in the viability of Streptococcus mutans w

Hepatoprotective effect of (Arachis hypogeaL.) peanut skin extracts on CCl4 induced liver damage in mice
...Show More Authors

This study was carried out to evaluate the hepato-protective property of (Arachis hypogea L.) peanut skin extracts in CCl4 induced hepatotoxicity in mice. The antioxidant activity was measured utilizing 2, 2-diphenyl-1-1 picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging capacity. The results showed that the methanolic extract was the highest free radical scavenging activity than the aqueous extract with values (92.34 ± 0.45 and 87.62 ± 0.44) respectively in 12 mg/mL compared to 89.61 ± 0.34 for Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and 93.25 ± 0.06 for vitamin C, which means that the methanolic extract of peanut skin is superior to BHT. Furthermore, the total phenolic content was analyzed by using Folin-Ciocalteu method, the amount of total phenol in a

Microneedle Array Patches: Characterization and in -vitro Evaluation
...Show More Authors

Patch in transdermal drug delivery(TDDS) used to overcome the hypodermic drawback, but these patch also have absorption limitation for hydrophilic and macromolecule like peptide and DNA. So that micronized projection have the ability for skin penetration developed named as microneedle.  Microneedle drug delivery system is a novel drug delivery to overcome the limitation of TDDS like skin barrier restriction for large molecule. Microneedle patch can penetrate through skin subcutaneous into epidermis, avoiding nerve fiber and blood vessel contact. There are many type of microneedle patch like solid, polymer, hallow, hydrogel forming microneedle and dissolving microneedle with different method of microfabrication
