The Effect of Atenolol on CK-MB Levels in Hypertensive Patients

Atenolol is one of beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent. It is widely used for the treatment of hypertension as a selective antihypertensive drug. But long term usage of atenolol may cause one of the cardiovascular diseases like myocardial infarction. To prove the relationship between atenolol and cardiovascular disease, measurement of creatinekinase-MB as a diagnostic indicator in early and long term usage of this drug by hypertensive patients is recommended.  A comparative study was conducted in Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital–Emergency Department- on 30 hypertensive patients using atenolol. They were divided into (2) groups A and B according to the duration of the drug usage. Group A- (15) patients with a mean age (56+6) years. They used atenolol for a period of (1-5) years. Group B- also (15) patients with mean age (60+6) years. They used atenolol for (6-20) years. Both groups were with nearly the same number of males and females. All subjects of the study groups were screened to exclude evidence of hyper or hypothyroidism, diabetes and chronic renal failure. Venous blood samples were taken in first 8 hours after onset symptoms of cardiac attack from each patients and the levels of creatine kinase-MB were estimated and compared between the (2) groups. There is a significant correlation between levels of serum creatine kinase-MB of group A and group B (P<0.05). Atenolol causes increased level of serum CK-MB and this increase was directly proportional to the duration of the drug usage. CK-MB is one of cardiac markers that released from heart muscle when it is damaged as a result of myocardial infraction. So, atenolol has a significant correlation with development of myocardial diseases.

EFFECT OF EXPRESSION OF TAFAZZIN (TAZ) ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF CERVICAL CARCINOMA

: Cervical cancer representsone of the possibly preventable cancer. The study was designed to find the possible correlation of Tafazzin on the progression of cervical carcinoma. Two groups of paraffinized blocks were included. The study group of 30 cervical tumors as well as 15 biopsies of healthy cervical tissues. After sectioning on a positive charge, immunohistochemical application (IHC) was performed to detect Tafazzin expression. Modeling of the Effect of MgO and ZrO2 on Sintering of Alumina

  This research  studyies the effect of MgO and ZrO2 as additives in sintering Al2O3 . The experimental results are modeled using ( L2 _ regression) technique , sintered density and grain size rate measurments were  accounted by utilizing experimental results of undoped , MgO doped and ZrO2  doped alumina impregrated with spherical large pores in final stage of sintering . The effect of each additive is inhibitian of the grain growth and increasing the densification rate which enhances the kinietics of densification and the removal of large and small pores.

Transition properties of γ-ray Emitted from levels in 90Mo using 𝝈 𝑱 method

The δ-mixing ratios have been calculated for several γ-transitions in 90Mo using the 𝛔 𝐉 method. The results are compared with other references the agreement is found to be very good .this confirms the validity of the 𝛔 𝐉 method as a tool for analyzing the angular distribution of γ-ray. Calculation For Multipole Mixing Ratios OF Gamma Transitions From Deformation Levels IN 152Sm Nucleus

In the  present  work  , the a2 - ratio  method  has  been used  to calculate the multipole mixing  ratios , 5 - values • of y - transitions from excited levels of deformation  nucleiL-. ( 152Sm ) .

The results obtained confirm the validity of this method in calculating the o - values .

The  present  results are in good  agreement  with  those  of the experimental  results,   ref.( I ,2)  , and   of  theoretical   results   using interaction  boson model (IBM-I) ,ref. (5).

Alterations of Obestatin, Cardiac Markers and Lipid Profile Levels in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

The current investigation aimed to test the alterations of the levels of obestatin hormone, lipid profile and cardiac function markers in relation to hyperglycemia in patients with non-insulin diabetes mellitus. The study included 118 diabetic subjects (56 males, 62 females) and 60 healthy non-diabetic subjects (30 males, 30 females). Diabetic and healthy subjects were age-matched.
