Preventive Effects of Different Doses of Pentoxyfilline Against CCl4-Induced Liver Toxicity in Rats
...Show More Authors

The liver protective effects of pentoxifylline were studied through pre-treatment of rats with various intraperitoneal (IP) doses (25, 50 and 100mg/kg/day) 14 days before induction of liver toxicity by carbon tetrachloride (CCl4). The parameters of oxidative stress, malondialdehyde (MDA) and reduced glutathione (GSH) were measured in liver homogenate in addition to histopathological examinations. Analysis of data revealed significant amelioration of oxidative stress in groups of animals pre-treated with different doses of pentoxifylline (PTX) compared to group of animals intoxicated by CCl4 as evidenced by lowering MDA contents and elevation of GSH levels in liver tissue homogenate but the levels still significantly different compared to controls. Additionally, increasing doses of PTX produce a dose-dependent improvement in liver tissue damage induced by CCl4, as evident histologically by the stained liver sections. In conclusion, these findings suggest that, the hepatoprotective effects of pentoxifylline are dose dependent.

Key words: pentoxifylline, CCl4, liver toxicity.

The Influence of Entamoeba histolytica Against Some Gut Microbiota in Children with Acute Amoebic
...Show More Authors

This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between the microbiota number of some common bacterial species in children's gut with Entamoeba histolytica infection. To achieve that,49 samples of stool were collected, 29 from children with acute amebiasis and 20 from healthy children, children's ages ranging from 1 month to 12 years from both genders. Counting three types of bacteria Lactobacillus spp., Bifidobacterium spp. and Escherichia coli, using the standard curve obtained from Real-Time PCR was accomplished. The standard curve was made from decimal serial dilution of samples containing an unknown number of bacteria. The results showed that E. histolytica infection creates co

Review: - Determination of vitamin E concentration in different samples
...Show More Authors

Vitamins are a type of essential and important nutrient in the human body. It also plays an essential role in the health and protection of the human body. They share physiological functions with many chemicals, and their deficiency or increase endangers human health. Therefore, it is required to evolve and use modern methods to estimate the concentration of vitamins, even if their concentration is very low, and these include the vitamin E group tocopherols, tocotrienols, isomers, esters, and derivatives. They disagree not in their ability as anti-cancer agents but rather in their physiological as well as chemical relations, unlike vitamin A and vitamin D. The richest source of vitamin E is vegetable oil. Vitamin E, classified as a vitami

Abstract
Hemorrhagic insult is a major source of morbidity and mortality in both adults and newborn babies in the developed countries. The mechanisms underlying the non-traumatic rupture of cerebral vessels are not fully clear, but there is strong evidence that stress, which is associated with an increase in arterial blood pressure, plays a crucial role in the development of acute intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), and alterations in cerebral blood flow (CBF) may contribute to the pathogenesis of ICH. The problem is that there are no effective diagnostic methods that allow for a prognosis of risk to be made for the development of ICH. Therefore, quantitative assessment of CBF may significantly advance the underst
... Show More

Tamoxifen(TAM) is an effective anticancer drug. This study was conducted to evaluate the side effects of Tamoxifenon the lipid profile. 40 rats divided into 4 equal groups,3 groups were given different doses (30, 40, 50)mg/kg body weight of TAM three times a week for 8 weeks as well as control group that was given with physiological solution. At the end ofexperiment, The results showed significant differences in the treated groups were the results showed a significant degrees (p<0.05) in the HDL level in the treatment group (50mg/kg) while the three groups showed a significant increase in the levels of (Ch, TG, LDL, VLDL). The results of the study showed that Tamoxifen caused an accumulation in fats.

STUDY OF THE EFFECT OF COLD PLASMA ON THE REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGY OF MALE RATS
...Show More Authors

Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) is used widely in medical and biological fields because of non-thermal effected. Direct application of plasma is preferred in medical functions, so, direct application of cold plasma has obtained by the floating electrode dielectric barrier discharge (FE-DBD) system. The purpose of this paper to review the effect of (CAP) on the reproductive hormones (testosterone, LH, E2, progesterone, for male rats. The study appeared that no significant effect on E2 and progesterone hormone for all time of exposure, besides this significant difference in LH hormone (P<0.05) at 15 sec, (P<0.0001) at 30, 90 sec and (P<0.001) at 60 sec of exposure to plasma. Added to that significant difference (P<0.01) at 15, 30, 60 sec and no

Transfer Factors as an Immunenhancer Against Adenovirus in Experimental Infection in Chicken
...Show More Authors

A group of birds were passively immunized by a transfer factor extracted from lymphocytes sensitized to adenovirus and then they were challenged by the virulent virus (adenovirus isolated from hydropericardium infected birds). The results indicatede that the groups of birds that received the transfer factor or sensitized lymphocytes were protected from having any grossly pathological changes and having a high level of anti adenovirus antibodies.
