Preparation and Evaluation of Meloxicam Microsponges as Transdermal Delivery System
...Show More Authors

The aim of present study was to develop gel formulation of microsponges of poorly soluble drug meloxicam (MLX) in order to enhance the release and dissolution of MLX which is the limitation for preparation in topical forms. Also skin delivery is an alternative administration for MLX that can minimize gastrointestinal (GI) side effects and improve patient compliance. The microsponges of MLX were prepared by quasi-emulsion solvent diffusion method. The effects of drug:polymer ratio, stirring time and Eudragit polymer type on the physical characteristics of microsponges were investigated and characterized for production yield, loading efficiency, particle size, surface morphology, and in vitro drug release from microsponges. The selected microsponge formula was incorporated into gel. The prepared microsponge gel was evaluated as visual inspection, pH, spreadability, viscosity, in addition to in vitro drug release. The results showed that the microsponge formula with Eudragit L100 polymer had optimum physical properties and enhanced the dissolution and release of MLX when compared with other formulas and pure drug. MLX microsponge carbopol gel produced a significant (p<0.05) improvement of the in vitro release than pure MLX gel. Hence quasi emulsion solvent diffusion method was a promising method to produce MLX microsponges with markedly enhanced dissolution rate.

Synthesis and Preliminary Pharmacological Evaluation of Esters and Amides Derivatives of Naproxen as Potential Anti-Inflammatory Agents
...Show More Authors

4-chloro and 4- nitro substituted phenol and aniline incorporated to a carboxylic group of naproxen a well-known non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) to increase bulkiness were synthesized for evaluation as a potential anti-inflammatory agents with expected COX-2 selectivity. In vivo acute anti-inflammatory activity of these compounds (I-IV) was evaluated in rats using egg-white induced edema model of inflammation in a dose equivalent to (2.5 mg/Kg) of naproxen. All tested compounds produced a significant reduction in paw edema with respect to the effect of propylene glycol 50% v/v (control group). Moreover, compounds I and IV might show higher effect comparable to that of naproxen and to that of compounds II & III whic

Clinical Evaluation of a Formulated Econazol Nitrate as A Topical Solution
...Show More Authors

Econazole nitrate (EN) is considered as the most effective agent for the treatment of all forms of dermatomycosis caused by dernatophytes. It was formulated as a topical solution in our laboratories. This study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of Econazol Nitrate in the prepared formula and compared with that of commercial brand, Pevaryl®. A total of 104 patient suffering from dermatomycoses were involved in this investigation. Both formula were applied to the affected skin region in the morning and evening from week to 16 weeks with light massage until complete healing effect was achieved. The data revealed that the percentage of cured patient treated with the prepared formula and reference formula of Ecanozol Nitrate 1% so

Preparation, In-vitro, Ex-vivo, and Pharmacokinetic Study of Lasmiditan as Intranasal Nanoemulsion-based In Situ Gel
...Show More Authors
Background:

Lasmiditan (LAS) is a recently developed antimigraine drug and was approved in October, 2019 for the treatment of acute migraines; however, it suffers from low oral bioavailability, which is around 40%.

Objective:

This study aimed to improve the LAS bioavailability via formulation as nanoemulsionbased in situ gel (NEIG) given intranasally and then compare the traditional aqueous-LASsuspension (AQS) with the two successful intranasal prepared formulations (NEIG 2 and NEIG 5) in order to determine its relative bioavailability (F-relative) via using rabbits.

Evaluation of shear bond strength between thermosens as relining material and different denture base materials
...Show More Authors

Background: Denture relining is the process of resurfacing of the tissue side of the ill fitting denture, the bond strength at the relining-denture base interface is most important for denture durability. The aim of present study was to evaluate the shear bond strength between the thermosens as relining material and different denture base materials that bonded by thermo fusing liquid. As this corrective procedureis the common chair side procedure in the dental clinic. Material and method: Sixty samples were prepared and divided into three main groups according to the type of denture base materials.Group (A) referred to the heat cure acrylic samples which consisted of 20 samples. Group (B) referred to the high impact acrylic samples which con

Background: Neonatal septicemia is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide especially so in developing countries. To reduce the mortality caused by neonatal septicemia, it became vital to diagnose it as soon as possible and treat with administration of appropriate antibiotics. Objective: To study the relationship between themicroorganisms isolated from septicemic neonates with place of delivery.Patients and Methods: Blood sample was obtained from 76 neonates (50 of them are born in Baghdad teaching hospital (Inborn), 26 of the babies are born at home or in Al-Elwya teaching hospital (out born) ,the laboratory diagnosis for the out born patients done in the same hospital(Al-Elwya teaching hospital .The aged of the neo

Targeted Intranasal Delivery of Antiretrovirals for NeuroAIDS: Opportunities, Barriers, and Formulation Strategies
...Show More Authors

NeuroAIDS refers to the spectrum of neuropsychiatric complications observed in approximately 30–50% of HIV/AIDS patients. Although the advent of antiretroviral therapy has reduced the severity of AIDS, mild cognitive deficits persist in nearly half of treated patients, highlighting limitations in central nervous system (CNS) drug delivery. These limitations are attributed to poor blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability, P-glycoprotein efflux, low solubility, first-pass metabolism, and short half-lives of many ART drugs. Nose-to-brain drug delivery has emerged as a promising alternative, bypassing the BBB via olfactory and trigeminal pathways. This route offers direct CNS access while minimizing systemic exposure. Factors such as dr

Abstract
Through the last decade, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) methodology considers one of the new contractual relations that are also on the way to further integrate the process of combining design and instruction. On the other hand, Building Information Modeling (BIM) made significant advancements in coordinating the planning and construction processes. It is being used more often in conjunction with traditional delivery methods. In this paper, the researcher will present the achievement of IPD methodology by using BIM through applying on the design of the financial commission building in Mayssan Oil Company in Iraq.
