The aim of this study is to find a relationship between oxidative stress and adiponectin in Iraqi patients with acromegaly. The present study included 30 patients with acromegaly disease attending at Al-Yarmuk teaching hospital , and 30 healthy individuals as a control group.The two groups with ages ranging (30-55) years. The results revealed a highly significant elevation in all parameters (GH,IGF-1 , adiponectin , malondialdehyde , and peroxynitrite ) levels in sera of patients when compared with healthy control .It can be concluded that oxidative stress (malondialdehyde and peroxynitrite ) may be valuable in detecting of endocrine diseases like acromegaly .

The aim of the present research is to illustrate γ-ray levels emitting from soil and bitumen producing from 238U, 232Th, and 40K along Abu-Jir Fault Zone. in the area extended from Al-Marj valley to Abu-Jir village using scintillometer device. Such study is important in environmental assessment to buildup data base about radioactivity. The concentration of natural radionuclides in the study area was determined to be occurring mostly in the clay minerals and organic matter.      Five subsurface sections and a large number of thin sections of the Hartha Formation (age Late Campanian – Early Maastrichtian) were studied to unravel the depositional facies and environments. The Hartha Formation is important as an oil reservoir in Iraq.

Petrographic and microfacies analysis of selected wells from Balad and East Baghdad oil fields in Central Iraq, enable the recognition of three main Sedimentary paleoenvironments. These are restricted marine, the shallow open marine environment within the inner ramp, deep outer ramp.

Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between the two energy balance hormones and autoimmune diseases.
