In this study, polymeric coating was developed by incorporating nano graphene in the polymer blend with applications to oil storage tanks. The oil storage tanks samples were brought from the oil Pipeline Company / Doura refinery in Baghdad. The coating polymer was formed with a blend (epoxy resin and repcoat ZR). The proportion of mixing the mixture was 3:1:1 epoxy resin 21.06 gm: repcoat ZR 10.53 gm: hardener 10.53 gm. The blend/graphene was prepared using in stui-polymerization method with different weight percentage 1, 3, 5, and 7 wt % added to blend. The resulting solution was put in a glass tube on a magnetic stirrer for one hour at a temperature of 40 °C. The result of contact angle and water absorption the best ratio of 3wt % (73.46). The current work confirms that the thermal stability of the nanocomposites increases gradually with increasing the percentage of Gr compared to the blend without adding Gr nano and this is due to the thermal resistance of the Gr nano.

(epoxy/polyurethane) blend reinforced with nano silica powder (2%
wt.). Hand lay-up technique was used to manufacture the composite

that water had affected the bending flexural strength and hardness,
while impact strength increased and thermal conductivity decreased.

The value of thermal conductivity increase with increasing ratio of talc powder and water absorption increase with increasing ratio of talc powder because the structure from magnesium silicate hydroxide and hydrophilic nature .Ethanol absorption decrease with increasing percentage talc powder compared with epoxy pure
In this study the thermal conductivity of the epoxy composites were characterized as function of volume fraction, particle size of fillers and the time of immersion(30,60,90)days in water .Composites plates were prepared by incorporating (bi-directional) (0º-90º) glass fiber and silicon carbide (SiC) particles of (0.1,0.5,1)mm as particle size at (10%,20%,30%,40%) percent volume in epoxy matrix.

Unsaturated polyester toughened Epoxy was developed. Epoxy resin had toughened by weight fraction of 10, 20, 30, and 40 wt. % unsaturated polyester. FTIR spectroscopy has been used to investigating the intermolecular hydrogen bonding. Unsaturated polyester–epoxy matrices were characterized for their thermal properties. The FTIR test detected a peak shift of the functional groups which can explain cross-linking occurs between the two resins. The crosslinking between epoxy and unsaturated polyester confirmed via the existence of the stretching asymmetrical C-C band and contraction of the C-O band. Show MoreThis research includes using epoxy resin and polyurethane resin to form a blend (EP+PU) with different resin ratios (90 – 10)%, (80 – 20)%, (70 – 30)%, and (60 – 40)% to achieve best ratio for impact strength as a function of better toughness; then reinforced with micro and nano (CdO) with weight fraction (0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08). Mechanical properties were studied including hardness before and after exposure to UV irradiation. Results showed that the composite (nano CdO+ blend) had better properties compared with (micro CdO+ blend) composite. Also hardness show increases with increasing the weight fraction for all samples.

This was achieved through the use of a polymer coating solution added to fine cement with weight percentage (wt%) values of 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 to obtain dark-colored (gray) composites. Mortar samples were prepared using the adhesion test. The contact angle and adhesion strength were studied for the prepared samples concerning the effect of changing the weight ratio of additive cement on water absorption. The TGA result indicates that the thermal-stability of carbon fiber may be enhanced after Cu coating CF.
