Mercury, arsenic, cadmium and lead, were measured in sediment samples of river and marine environmental of Basra governorate in southern of Iraq. Sixteen sites of sediment were selected and distributed along Shatt Al-Arab River and the Iraqi marine environment. The samples were distributed among one station on Euphrates River before its confluence with Tigris River and Shatt Al-Arab formation, seven stations along Shatt Al-Arab River and eight stations were selected from the Iraqi marine region. All samples were collected from surface sediment in low tide time. Three plant species were picked randomly and their alcoholic extracts have been screened to know their effects on the phagocytic capability and intracellular killing of yeast by human peripheral macrophages. Macrophage cultures were incubated with different concentration of each plant extract: for 15 min., 30 min .and 45 min. The phagocytes activity in Iresine herbstii extract was significantly (p?0.05) increased with increasing dose and time of incubation. This study has been done on plant [Adhatoda vasicia , Acanthaceae family],which has been collected from gardens of university of Baghdad The leaves of plant were extracted by methanol alcohol obtain the crude extraction good ratio(30%).Eighty swabs or samples were collected from several wounds patients of hospitals in Baghdad city.These swabs were cultured on blood and MacConkey ager to isolate bacteria and identified by appearance and bio chemical tests.The results showed that(60)somples were positive(75%)for tests bacteria white the other(20)swabs were negative(25%).The bacteria were identified as Pseudomonas aeruginosa ,Staphylococcus awreus , Esherichia coli,Proteus spp and Klebsiella spp; and their number percentage were(32)isolates(
