Background: Infantile hypertrophic pyloric
stenosis affects 0.5 – 3.0 per 1000 live birth and it is
the most common surgical cause of vomiting in
infancy.
Objective: To analyze variable peri-natal factors
that may be involved in the etiology of infantile
hypertrophic pyloric stenosis.
Methods: Over a two year's period, from January
2000 – December 2001, 31 cases of infantile
hypertrophic pyloric stenosis were evaluated for
variable peri-natal risk factors in AL-Eskan central
child teaching hospital for children.
Results: The 31 cases studied were 77.4% males
and 48.4% at three weeks of age. And of all cases,
51.6% were breast fed with a blood group (O) being
the predominant in 54.8%.

Background: Pyogenic discitis most frequently occurs
after home delivery, hemorridectomy, and dilatation and
curettage. Discitis is generally due to blood borne bacterial
invasion of the disc from adjacent end-plate via
communicating vessels. Infective discitis remains an
uncommon, but potentially serious cause for back pain.
Delayed diagnosis can occur and a high index of suspicion
may occur.

The objective behind this work was to find out the bacteriological profile of post burn infections in wound. The study was carried out from December 2010 to February 2011 at the Burns Unit of Al –Kindy Hospital and Al-Yarmook Hospital in Baghdad. Sixty burn patients have been investigated for bacterial profile of burn wound infections. Specimens were collected in the form of wound swabs. The organisms were isolated and identified by standard microbiological methods. Antimicrobial susceptibility test has been done by ATB-PSE5 kit(BioMereiux). A case of angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (ALH) is reported in a 42-year-old woman who developed multiple nodules behind the ear. Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia usually occurs on the head and neck of young adults and is more common in women than in men. Characteristic histologic features of ALH present in this case included proliferation of thick-walled blood vessels lined by prominent endothelial cells, infiltration of the interstitium by chronic inflammatory cells (mainly eosinophils), and presence of lymphoid follicles with germinal centers.
