The main problem established by a discovery of a thyroid nodule is to discriminate between a benign and malignant lesion. Differential diagnosis between follicular thyroid cancer (FTC) and benign follicular thyroid adenoma (FTA) is a great challenge for even an experienced pathologist and requires special effort. A developing number of some encouraging IHC markers for the differential diagnosis of thyroid lesions have emerged, including, Hector Battifora mesothelial (HBME-1) and galectin-3 (Gal-3). The surgical treatment of inferior turbinate hypertrophy (ITH) is challenging. Submucosal diathermy (SMD) is a well-known surgical procedure used for the treatment of ITH, microdebrider-assisted rhinoplasty (MAT) is relatively a newer technique used in the management of ITH. To evaluate the effect of MAT on inferior turbinate size and nasal airway patency in patients with bilateral ITH in comparison to SMD. Seventy-one patients presented with nasal obstruction due to bilateral ITH were allocated into two groups, group a (35 patients) were subjected to SMD and 36 patients in group B were subjected to MAT. Current study aimed to investigate the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in nasal
secretion and throat swab samples of hospitalized patients with symptoms of
respiratory tract infection using Immunofluorescence test. Previously these samples
were tested for Respiratory Syncytial Virus infection by reverse transcriptase-PCR
assay. The positive samples were tested by Immunofluorescence assay in monolayer
confluent of Hep 2 cell line. The results showed that the positive samples using the
RT-PCR test were positive in this test. These results reveal that Immunofluorescence
test is sensitive method for detection the infection with RSV.
