Image restoration using regularized inverse filtering and adaptive threshold wavelet denoising
...Show More Authors

Although the Wiener filtering is the optimal tradeoff of inverse filtering and noise smoothing, in the case when the blurring filter is singular, the Wiener filtering actually amplify the noise. This suggests that a denoising step is needed to remove the amplified noise .Wavelet-based denoising scheme provides a natural technique for this purpose .

In this paper  a new image restoration scheme is proposed, the scheme contains two separate steps : Fourier-domain inverse filtering  and wavelet-domain image denoising. The first stage is Wiener filtering of the input image , the filtered image is inputted to adaptive threshold wavelet denoising stage . The choice of the threshold estimation is carried out by analyzing the statistical parameters of the wavelet sub band coefficients like standard deviation, arithmetic mean and geometrical mean . The noisy image is first decomposed into many levels to obtain different frequency bands. Then soft thresholding method is used to remove the noisy coefficients, by fixing the optimum thresholding value by this method .

Experimental results on test image by using this method show that this method yields significantly superior image quality and better Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR). Here, to prove the efficiency of this method in image restoration , we have compared this with various restoration  methods like Wiener filter alone and inverse filter.

Spatial and frequency domain techniques have been adopted in this search. mean
value filter, median filter, gaussian filter. And adaptive technique consists of
duplicated two filters (median and gaussian) to enhance the noisy image. Different
block size of the filter as well as the sholding value have been tried to perform the
enhancement process.

Proposed Hybrid Sparse Adaptive Algorithms for System Identification

Abstract

For sparse system identification, recent suggested algorithms are  -norm Least Mean Square (  -LMS), Zero-Attracting LMS (ZA-LMS), Reweighted Zero-Attracting LMS (RZA-LMS), and p-norm LMS (p-LMS) algorithms, that have modified the cost function of the conventional LMS algorithm by adding a constraint of coefficients sparsity. And so, the proposed algorithms are named  -ZA-LMS,

Investigation of Numerical Simulation for Adaptive Optics System
...Show More Authors

In this study, the performance of the adaptive optics (AO) system was analyzed through a numerical computer simulation implemented in MATLAB. Making a phase screen involved turning computer-generated random numbers into two-dimensional arrays of phase values on a sample point grid with matching statistics. Von Karman turbulence was created depending on the power spectral density. Several simulated point spread functions (PSFs) and modulation transfer functions (MTFs) for different values of the Fried coherent diameter (ro) were used to show how rough the atmosphere was. To evaluate the effectiveness of the optical system (telescope), the Strehl ratio (S) was computed. The compensation procedure for an AO syst

Advanced Intelligent Data Hiding Using Video Stego and Convolutional Neural Networks
...Show More Authors

Steganography is a technique of concealing secret data within other quotidian files of the same or different types. Hiding data has been essential to digital information security. This work aims to design a stego method that can effectively hide a message inside the images of the video file.  In this work, a video steganography model has been proposed through training a model to hiding video (or images) within another video using convolutional neural networks (CNN). By using a CNN in this approach, two main goals can be achieved for any steganographic methods which are, increasing security (hardness to observed and broken by used steganalysis program), this was achieved in this work as the weights and architecture are randomized. Thus,

Attacking Jacobian Problem Using Resultant Theory
...Show More Authors

This paper introduces a relation between resultant and the Jacobian determinant
by generalizing Sakkalis theorem from two polynomials in two variables to the case of (n) polynomials in (n) variables. This leads us to study the results of the type:  ,            and use this relation to attack the Jacobian problem. The last section shows our contribution to proving the conjecture.

Luminance pyramid for image generation and colorization
...Show More Authors

Many image processing and machine learning applications require sufficient image feature selection and representation. This can be achieved by imitating human ability to process visual information. One such ability is that human eyes are much more sensitive to changes in the intensity (luminance) than the color information. In this paper, we present how to exploit luminance information, organized in a pyramid structure, to transfer properties between two images. Two applications are presented to demonstrate the results of using luminance channel in the similarity metric of two images. These are image generation; where a target image is to be generated from a source one, and image colorization; where color information is to be browsed from o
