Design and Implementation of a Proposal Network Firewall
...Show More Authors

In today's world, most business, regardless of size, believe that access to Internet is imperative if they are going to complete effectively. Yet connecting a private computer (or a network) to the Internet can expose critical or confidential data to malicious attack from anywhere in the world since unprotected connections to the Internet (or any network topology) leaves the user computer vulnerable to hacker attacks and other Internet threats. Therefore, to provide high degree of protection to the network and network's user, Firewall need to be used.

Firewall provides a barrier between the user computer and the Internet (i.e. it prevents unauthorized Internet users from accessing private computers and networks connected to the Internet).

This paper concerned with the design and implementation of a proposal firewall system which is used to protect both individual computers and corporate networks from hostile intrusion coming through Internet. The Dual-homed host architecture has been used to implement the proposed firewall system. The designed system is constructed using Visual Basic 6.0 Language.

Finally, This proposed system is built depending on the packet filtering mechanism to regulate all the packets entering and leaving the protected site using IP address and port number of the TCP packet. Also this system deals with application level and monitors all packet data (content) and maintains the firewall activity with Internet connection.

Abstract<p>The performance of a diesel engine was tested with diesel oil contaminated with glycol at the engineering workshop/Department of Agricultural Machines and Equipment / College of the Agricultural Engineering Sciences at the University of Baghdad. To investigate the impact of different concentrations of glycol on the performance of a diesel engine, an experimental water-cooled four-stroke motor was utilized, with oil containing 0, 100, and 200 parts per million (ppm). Specific fuel consumption, thermal efficiency, friction power, and exhaust gas temperature were examined as performance indicators. Acute Appendicitis and Multisystemic Inflammatory Syndrome due to COVID-19: a Case Report and Literature Review
...Show More Authors

The prevalence of gastrointestinal symptoms of COVID-19 is variable with different types of presentations. Some of them many present with manifestations mimicking surgical emergencies. Yet, the pathophysiology of acute abdomen in the context of COVID-19 remains unclear. We present a case of a previously healthy child who presented with acute appendicitis with multisystemic inflammatory syndrome. We also highlight the necessity of considering the gastrointestinal symptoms of COVID-19 infection in pediatric patients in order to avoid misdiagnosis and further complications.

Globalization has occupied a great deal of studies, research and literature, in addition to being a phenomenon that has imposed itself firmly on the ground. Globalization is considered the main feature of the current moment in today's world. The world is now transforming in an unprecedented way under noticeable titles of successive waves of knowledge and technology. The current research aims to identify the effects of globalization on the variables and their political, social, media and cultural dimensions, as well as culture of consumption and cultural identity. The theoretical framework included two sections: the first is the concept of globalization, its history and its dimensions, and the second is the modernity in contemporary Europea

A New Approach to DNA, RNA, and Protein Motifs Templates Visualization and Analysis via Compilation Technique
...Show More Authors

Motifs template is the input for many bioinformatics systems such codons finding, transcription, transaction, sequential pattern miner, and bioinformatics databases analysis. The size of motifs arranged from one base up to several Mega bases, therefore, the typing errors increase according to the size of motifs. In addition, when the structures motifs are submitted to bioinformatics systems, the specifications of motifs components are required, i.e. the simple motifs, gaps, and the lower bound and upper bound of each gap. The motifs can be of DNA, RNA, or Protein. In this research, a motif parser and visualization module is designed depending on a proposed a context free grammar, CFG, and colors human recognition system. GFC describes the m

Are sexual and reproductive health and rights taught in medical school? Results from a global survey

Abstract<p>Our aim was to investigate the inclusion of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) topics in medical curricula and the perceived need for, feasibility of, and barriers to teaching SRHR. We distributed a survey with questions on SRHR content, and factors regulating SRHR content, to medical universities worldwide using chain referral. Associations between high SRHR content and independent variables were analyzed using unconditional linear regression or χ2 test. Text data were analyzed by thematic analysis. We collected data from 219 respondents, 143 universities and 54 countries. Clinical SRHR topics such as safe pregnancy and childbirth (95.7%) and contraceptive methods</p> ... Show More

Flow from a source above a sloping base
...Show More Authors

We consider the outflow of water from the peak of a triangular ridge into a channel of finite depth. Solutions are computed for different flow rates and bottom angles. A numerical method is used to compute the flow from the source for small values of flow rate and it is found that there is a maximum flow rate beyond which steady solutions do not seem to exist. Limiting flows are computed for each geometrical configuration. One application of this work is as a model of saline water being returned to the ocean after desalination. References Craya, A. A self-balancing platform on a mobile car

<span lang="EN-US">In the last years, the self-balancing platform has become one of the most common candidates to use in many applications such as flight, biomedical fields, and industry. In this paper, the physical prototype of a proposed self-balancing platform that described the self-balancing attitude in the (X-axis, Y-axis, or biaxial) under the influence of road disturbance has been introduced. In the physical prototype, the inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor will sense the disturbance in (X-axis, Y-axis, and biaxial). With the determined error, the corresponding electronic circuit, DC servo motors, and the Arduino software, the platform overcame the tilt angle(disturbance). Optimization of the proportional-integral-
