Model Reference Adaptive Control based on a Self-Recurrent Wavelet Neural Network Utilizing Micro Artificial Immune Systems
...Show More Authors

Abstract

This paper presents an intelligent model reference adaptive control (MRAC) utilizing a self-recurrent wavelet neural network (SRWNN) to control nonlinear systems. The proposed SRWNN is an improved version of a previously reported wavelet neural network (WNN). In particular, this improvement was achieved by adopting two modifications to the original WNN structure. These modifications include, firstly, the utilization of a specific initialization phase to improve the convergence to the optimal weight values, and secondly, the inclusion of self-feedback weights to the wavelons of the wavelet layer. Furthermore, an on-line training procedure was proposed to enhance the control performance of the SRWNN-based MRAC. As the training method, the recently developed modified micro artificial immune system (MMAIS) was used to optimize the parameters of the SRWNN. The effectiveness of this control approach was demonstrated by controlling several nonlinear dynamical systems. For each of these systems, several evaluation tests were conducted, including control performance tests, robustness tests, and generalization tests. From these tests, the SRWNN-based MRAC has exhibited its effectiveness regarding accurate control, disturbance rejection, and generalization ability. In addition, a comparative study was made with other related controllers, namely the original WNN, the artificial neural network (ANN), and the modified recurrent network (MRN). The results of these comparison tests indicated the superiority of the SRWNN controller over the other related controllers.

Keywords: Artificial neural network, micro artificial immune system, model reference adaptive control, self-recurrent wavelet neural network , Wavelet neural network.

Abstract<p>The Dacus frontalis Becker is known species, being an agricultural pest. It has been attacked Cucumis melo L. Sticky traps and baits have been used as one of effective integrated control methods to monitor different types of insects. It is way to know population density of insects. For sticky traps, the average number of adults of insects caught in yellow, Transparent, blue and red traps was 15.72, 9.50, 4.67, 3.17 adults\ trap\ six weeks respectively. However, for baits, results have been recorded that average numbers of adults caught in traps were 13.67, 10.00, 9.17, 7.75, 50.6, 2.50 adult/trap. The results have been recorded tha</p> ... The Effect of Nano Materials on Lost Circulation Control of Azkand Formation in Khabaz Oil Field
...Show More Authors

Experimental tests were carried to control lost circulation in the Khabaz oil field using different types of LCMs including Nano-materials. A closed-loop circulation system was built to simulate the process of lost circulation into formations. Two dolomite plugs were used from different depths of the formation of Azkand in Khabaz oil field. The experimentations were carried out to study the effect of different types of LCMs, cross-linked copolymer (FLOSORB CE 300 S), SiO2 NP, and Fe2O3 NP, on mud volume losses as a function of time.

The rheological measurements of the nanoparticles-reference mud system showed that both of the SiO2 NP and Fe2O3 NP w

Critical Discourse Analysis Of Ideological Interdiscursivity In Selected Artificial Intelligence English Extracts
...Show More Authors

The study employs Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) to analyze how technological discourses are influenced by AI-generate d English texts. The research marries Fairclough’s three-dimensional discourse analysis, Van Dijk’s socio-cognitive approach, and Corpus-Assisted Discourse Studies (CADS) in the use of mixed-methods research, integrating primarily qualitative analysis with quantitative corpus-based data, to perform a thorough analysis of twenty AI-produced English texts. The findings identify the sophisticated linguistic mechanisms through which AI language employs modality, nominalization, passive voice, and interdiscursive blending to normalize and legitimize dominant contemporary ideologies. These mechanisms serve to legitimize te

The research aimed to identify the extent to which the media offices in the ministries depend on the website of the Iraqi Council of Ministers as a source of information. Such goal includes a set of sub-goals: Knowing the reasons for media offices' reliance on the information provided by the Cabinet's website; and revealing the benefit derived from relying on the Cabinet's website.

The researcher used the survey method to screen and comprehend the extent to which the media offices in the ministries depend on the website of the Iraqi Council of Ministers as a source of information.

A Specific NH&lt;sub&gt;3&lt;/sub&gt; Gas Sensor of a Thick MWCNTs-OH Network for Detection at Room Temperature
...Show More Authors

NH3 gas sensor was fabricated based on deposited of Functionalized Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs-OH) suspension on filter paper substrates using suspension filtration method. The structural, morphological and optical properties of the MWCNTs film were characterized by XRD, AFM and FTIR techniques. XRD measurement confirmed that the structure of MWCNTs is not affected by the preparation method. The AFM images reflected highly ordered network in the form of a mat. The functional groups and types of bonding have appeared in the FTIR spectra. The fingerprint (C-C stretch) of MWCNTs appears in 1365 cm-1, and the backbone of CNTs observed at 1645 cm-1. Aim: To evaluate the effect of two bonding systems and two curing systems on sealing ability of class V composite restorative materials. Materials and methods: This study was performed in vitro on 40 caries free upper first premolar teeth. The Standardized class V cavity preparation on buccal and lin- gual surfaces of each tooth was done. Then the teeth were randomly divided into two major groups each of twenty. 40 cavities were performed on these teeth and the first group7th generation bonding agent (i Bond) were applied according to the manufacturer instructions and single increment of univer- sal composite (XRV Herculite) from kerr were applied and twenty of the cavities were cured with con- ventional light cure device (astralis-5) and t

Thermal and Performance Efficient On-Chip Surface-Wave Communication for Many-Core Systems in Dark Silicon Era
...Show More Authors

Due to the exceedingly high integration density of VLSI circuits and the resulting high power density, thermal integrity became a major challenge. One way to tackle this problem is Dark silicon. Dark silicon is the amount of circuitry in a chip that is forced to switch off to insure thermal integrity of the system and prevent permanent thermal-related faults. In many-core systems, the presence of Dark Silicon adds new design constraints, in general, and on the communication fabric of such systems, in particular. This is due to the fact that system-level thermal-management systems tend to increase the distance between high activity cores to insure better thermal balancing and integrity. Consequently, a designing dilemma is created wh
