Design and Implementation for 3-DoF SCARA Robot based PLC
...Show More Authors

Abstract

This paper presents mechanical and electrical design, and implementation  process of industrial robot, 3-DoF type SCARA (selective compliment assembly robot arm),with two rotations and one translation used for welding applications. The design process also included the controller design which was based on PLC(programmable logic controller) as well as selection of mechanical and electrical components. The challenge was to use the available components in Iraq with reasonable costs. The robot mentioned is fully automated using programmable logic controller PLC(Zelio type SR3-B261BD),with 16inputs and 10 outputs. The PLC was implemented in FBD logic to obtain three different automatic motions with high efficiency withouterror, where the two links can stop in a certain points and link 3 bushed down for doing the task in a desired trajectory motion by programming the PLCcontroller.

Keywords: DoF, FBD, PLC, SCARArobot.

Priority Based Transmission Rate Control with Neural Network Controller in WMSNs
...Show More Authors

Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSNs) are networks of wirelessly interconnected sensor nodes equipped with multimedia devices, such as cameras and microphones. Thus a WMSN will have the capability to transmit multimedia data, such as video and audio streams, still images, and scalar data from the environment. Most applications of WMSNs require the delivery of multimedia information with a certain level of Quality of Service (QoS). This is a challenging task because multimedia applications typically produce huge volumes of data requiring high transmission rates and extensive processing; the high data transmission rate of WMSNs usually leads to congestion, which in turn reduces the Quality of Service (QoS) of multimedia applications. To

Room Temperature Photodetector Based on ANISOTYPE (n-p) Ge-Si Heterojunction
...Show More Authors

In this work we present a detailed study on anisotype nGe-pSi heterojunction (HJ) used as photodetector in the wavelength range (500-1100 nm). I-V characteristics in the dark and under illumination, C-V characteristics, minority carriers lifetime (MCLT), spectral responsivity, field of view, and linearity were investigated at 300K. The results showed that the detector has maximum spectral responsivity at λ=950 nm. The photo-induced open circuit voltage decay results revealed that the MCLT of HJ was around 14.4 μs

The Effect of the Problem Based Learning on EFL Learners’ Achievement
...Show More Authors

The present study discusses the problem based learning in Iraqi classroom. This method aims to involve all learners in collaborative activities and it is learner-centered method. To fulfill the aims and verify the hypothesis which reads as follow” It is hypothesized that there is no statistically significant differences between the achievements of Experimental group and control group”. Thirty learners are selected to be the sample of present study.Mann-Whitney Test for two independent samples is used to analysis the results. The analysis shows that experimental group’s members who are taught according to problem based learning gets higher scores than the control group’s members who are taught according to traditional method. Genre-Based Analysis of Selected Political Debates: A Discourse Analysis Study
...Show More Authors

The researchers of the present study have conducted a genre analysis of two political debates between American presidential nominees in the 2016 and 2020 elections. The current study seeks to analyze the cognitive construction of political debates to evaluate the typical moves and strategies politicians use to express their communicative intentions and to reveal the language manifestations of those moves and strategies. To achieve the study’s aims, the researchers adopt Bhatia’s (1993) framework of cognitive construction supported by van Emeren’s (2010) pragma-dialectic framework. The study demonstrates that both presidents adhere to this genre structuring to further their political agendas. For a positive and promising image

Analysis of structural concrete bar members based on secant stiffness methods
...Show More Authors

In this paper, the behavior of structural concrete linear bar members was studied using numerical model implemented in a computer program written in MATLAB. The numerical model is based on the modified version of the procedure developed by Oukaili. The model is based on real stress-strain diagrams of concrete and steel and their secant modulus of elasticity at different loading stages. The behavior presented by normal force-axial strain and bending moment-curvature relationships is studied by calculating the secant sectional stiffness of the member. Based on secant methods, this methodology can be easily implemented using an iterative procedure to solve non-linear equations. A comparison between numerical and experimental data, illustrated

The research aims to demonstrate the impact of TDABC as a strategic technology compatible with the rapid developments and changes in the contemporary business environment) on pricing decisions. As TDABC provides a new philosophy in the process of allocating indirect costs through time directives of resources and activities to the goal of cost, identifying unused energy and associated costs, which provides the management of economic units with financial and non-financial information that helps them in the complex and dangerous decision-making process. Of pricing decisions. To achieve better pricing decisions in light of the endeavor to maintain customers in a highly competitive environment and a variety of alternatives, the resear
