Experimental and Analytical Study of Bending Stresses and Deflections in Curved Beam Made of Laminated Composite Material
...Show More Authors

Abstract

Theoretical and experimental methodologies were assessed to test curved beam made of layered   composite material. The maximum stress and maximum deflection were computed for each layer and the effect of radius of curvature and curve shape on them. Because of the increase of the use of composite materials in aircraft structures and the renewed interest in these types of problems, the presented theoretical assessment was made using three different approaches: curved beam theory and an approximate 2D strength of material equations and finite element method (FEM) analysis by ANSYS 14.5 program for twelve cases of multi-layered cylindrical shell panel differs in fiber orientations and number of layers. One case of E-glass composite material was experimentally made and tested to verify the relation between applied load and maximum deflection and four  models were made of poly carbonyl to determine stresses under bending loads in polar scope, all results were compared with each other, the percentage accuracy was very good. The curved beam theory and strength of material equation formulas results were reasonable for the bottom surface, while it seems not enough for the top surfaces. Also, results explained positions and cases more affected by delaminating and the most preferred part of ellipse shape beam in resisting loads.

Proteoytic Activity and Swarming Growth of Proteus spp. Isolates.
...Show More Authors

Many clinical isolates of proteus spp. (30 isolates of P
mirabilis and 30 isolates of P. vulgaris) from patients with urinary
tract infections (UTIs) were examined for their ability to produce
proteolytic enzymes and their ability to form swarming growth. Most
(90%) of P. mirabilis and 60% of P. vulgaris isolates secreta
proteolytic enzymes. A strong correlation was found between the
ability of a strain to secreted proteases and it's ability to form
swarming growth. Non- swarming isolates invariably appeared to be
non- proteolytic. However, some isolates (12 isolates of P. vagaries)
were non- proteolytic even when they formed swarming growth

Extraction, purification and characterization of lipoxygenase from Pleurotus ostreatus.
...Show More Authors

Lipoxygenase was extracted from the cup of Pleurotus ostreatus ( Jaq : Fr ) oyster mushroom for the first time in Iraq, and purified homogeneously through precipitation with 40% saturation of (NH4)2SO4 as a partial purification then loaded on DEAE-Cellulose (Diethyl amino ethyl Cellulose) ion-exchange chromatography column and then the highly active elution parts have been passed through gel filtration column with Sephacryl S-300 as a final purification with 804 (U/mg protein) specific activity, 11.32 fold of purification and 36.54% yield . The molecular weight of the enzyme was estimated to 74 KDa by gel filtration Sephacryl S-300 column and the isoelectric point for enzyme was 5.3. The optimal pH for lipoxygenase activity and stability

Temperature and Doping Dependencies Junction Of Polythiophene Schottky Barrier
...Show More Authors

The junction between  polythiophene,  a conducting  polymer formed by  electrochemical polymerization,  and n-type silicon was  studied the temperature and doping dependencies were observed in the junction characteristics. The increase of junction  temperature leads to increase the saturation current, the barrier height, and decrease of the ideality factor for  junction. While the reduction in doping concentration causes a decrease  in the forward current. The results were  explained  according to the conventional  Schottky diode theories.

Dynamics and Chaotic of Polynomials on Quasi Banach Spaces
...Show More Authors

In the present paper, the concepts of a quasi-metric space, quasi-Banach space
have been introduced. We prove some facts which are defined on these spaces and
define some polynomials on quasi-Banach spaces and studied their dynamics, such
as, quasi cyclic and quasi hypercyclic. We show the existence of quasi chaotic in the
sense of Devaney (quasi D-chaotic) polynomials on quasi Banach space of qsummable
sequences lq , 0<q<1 such polynomials P is defined by P((xi)i)=(p(xi+m))i
where p:CC, p(0) = 0. In general we also prove that P is quasi chaotic in the sense
of Auslander and Yorke (quasi AY-chaotic) if and only if 0 belong to the Julia set of
p, mN. And then we prove that if the above polynomial P o

Stability and Anti-Chaos Control of Discrete Quadratic Maps
...Show More Authors

A dynamical system describes the consequence of the current state of an event or particle in future. The models expressed by functions in the dynamical systems are more often deterministic, but these functions might also be stochastic in some cases. The prediction of the system's behavior in future is studied with the analytical solution of the implicit relations (Differential, Difference equations) and simulations. A discrete-time first order system of equations with quadratic nonlinearity is considered for study in this work. Classical approach of stability analysis using Jury's condition is employed to analyze the system's stability. The chaotic nature of the dynamical system is illustrated by the bifurcation theory. The enhancement o

Desulfurization of Diesel Fuel by Oxidation and Solvent Extraction
...Show More Authors

This research presents a study in ultra-desulfurization of diesel fuel produced from conventional hydro desulfurization process, using oxidation and solvent extraction techniques. Dibenzothiophene (DBT) was the organosulfur compound that had been detected in sulfur removal. The oxidation process used hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant and acetic acid as homogeneous catalyst . The solvent extraction process used acetonitrile (ACN) and N-methyl – 2 - pyrrolidone (NMP) as  extractants . Also the effect of five parameters (stirring speed :150 , 250 , 350 , and 450) rpm, temperature (30 , 40 , 45 , and 50) oC, oxidant/simulated diesel fuel ratio (0.5 , 0.75 , 1 , and 1.5) , catalyst/oxidant ratio(0.125,0.25,0.5

Duality of St-closed submodules and semi-extending modules
...Show More Authors

The main goal of this paper is to dualize the two concepts St-closed submodule and semi-extending module which were given by Ahmed and Abbas in 2015. These dualizations are called CSt-closed submodule and cosemi-extending mod- ule. Many important properties of these dualizations are investigated, as well as some others useful results which mentioned by those authors are dualized. Furthermore, the relationships of cosemi-extending and other related modules are considered.
