This study includes isolation, purification, and identification of algae from the canal around Baghdad university Al-jadriah. Four unialgal cultures were obtained. These algal cultures included 3 species of cyanophyta ( Nostoc carneum, Westillopesis prolifica, Chroococcus turgidus), 1 species of chlorophyta (Chlorella vulgaris) . Different plants belonging to different families were collected and extracted for their oils which were Ricinus communis and Sesamum indicum (seeds), Matricaria chamomilla (flowers) .However, antialgal activity of the extracted oils were evaluated the isolated algae with 7 concentrations (0.09, 0.3, 0.5, 1, 10, 20 , 30) % using the agar wells diffusion method. Plant regeneration protocols were developed for medicinally important anise (Pimpinella anisum L.) that successfully achieved from seeds. Seeds were sterilized and inoculated on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium with and without gibberellins (GA₃) until full germination. The highest percentage of germination (100%) was recorded on MS medium treated with 2.0 mg/L GA₃ after 7 days. For shoot proliferation, different concentrations of 6- benzyl adenine BA (1, 1.5, 2 mg/L) were used. To enhance shoot induction, 0.1 mg/L of naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and 0.01 mg/L of thidiazuron (TDZ) were tested along with BA. Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae appears good growth when replicate to culture with heavy crude oil. K. pneumoniae was less ability to biodegrade the heavy crude oil (66.22 wt.%) compare with P. aeruginosa 74 wt.%). Also the emulsion percent were about 64.8 % and 62.5 % for K. pneumoniae and P. aeruginosa, respectively. The results showed that the emulsions produced from both the strains decrease the surface tension of the media from 68.43 Mn/m (for control sample) to 44.50 and 43.30 Mn/m for P. aeruginosa and K. pneumoniae, respectively.
