Design and modeling magnetorheological directional control valve

Directional control valves are designed to control direction of flow, while actuators maintain required speeds and precise positions. Magnetorheological (MR) fluid is a controllable fluid. Utilizing the MR fluid properties, direct interface between magnetic fields and fluid power is possible, without the need for mechanical moving parts like spools. This study proposes a design of a four-way three-position MR directional control valve, presents a method of building, and explains the working principle of the valve. An analysis of the design and finite elements using finite element method of magnetism (FEMM) software was performed on each valve. The magnetic circuit of the MR valve was analyzed and the performance was simulated. The experiment showed the functional working principle of the MR valve. In conclusion, the MR valve proved to be effective in controlling the direction and speed of hydraulic actuators proportionally. The proposed new design has the potential to reduce the complexity of directional control valves in the future.

Modeling and Stability of Lotka-Volterra Prey-Predator System Involving Infectious Disease in Each Population

In this paper, a mathematical model consisting of the prey- predator model with disease in both the population is proposed and analyzed. The existence, uniqueness and boundedness of the solution are discussed. The existences and the stability analysis of all possible equilibrium points are studied. Numerical simulation is carried out to investigate the global dynamical behavior of the system.

Batch and Fixed-Bed Modeling of Adsorption Reactive Remazol Yellow Dye onto Granular Activated Carbon

In this work, the adsorption of reactive yellow dye (Remazol yellow FG dye) by granular activated carbon (GAC) was investigated using batch and continuous process. The batch process involved determination the equilibrium isotherm curve either favorable or unfavorable by estimation relation between adsorption capacity and concentration of dye at different dosage of activated carbon. The results were fitted with equilibrium isotherm models Langmuir and Freundlich models with R2value (>0.97). Batch Kinetic study showed good fitting with pseudo second order model with R2 (0.987) at contact time 5 h. which provesthat the adsorption is chemisorptions nature. Statistical Modeling for Traffic Noise: The Case of Kirkuk City

The auditory system can suffer from exposure to loud noise and human health can be affected. Traffic noise is a primary contributor to noise pollution. To measure the noise levels, 3 variables were examined at 25 locations. It was found that the main factors that determine the increase in noise level are traffic volume, vehicle speed, and road functional class. The data have been taken during three different periods per day so that they represent and cover the traffic noise of the city during heavy traffic flow conditions. Analysis of traffic noise prediction was conducted using a simple linear regression model to accurately predict the equivalent continuous sound level.
