...Show More Authors

This study aims to know how and what is the media processing presented by the television talk shows for the religious extremism topics in terms of topics, hosted personalities, and ways to address this global phenomenon.

The study is based on descriptive research, and the researcher used the analytical-survey method, analyzing the episodes of (Awkar Al Dhalam) T.V Show which was presented on Al-Iraqiya News Channel, and (Islam Hur) T.V Show which was presented on Al-Hurra in 2019 with 25 episodes from each Show, The sample and research community was chosen with the intent to cover the research problem and its

The study reached several conclusions, including:

 • The various dialogs in the episodes of the two shows explained the concept of extremism, its types and manifestations, the dismantling of its intellectual system, and revel its deviation from the Mohammadi approach of Islam, and the reasons for this phenomenon.
 • Both shows implemented several frames to process the issues of religious extremism. the conflict and responsibility frames were the most often used, followed by humanitarian concerns and ethical aspects.
 • The extensive use of prominence and choice, as well as the use of omission and exclusion, these methods are often associated with the framing process. Highlighting certain elements requires neglecting others.
 • Both shows emphasized hosting intellectuals, specialized researchers, and experts in dealing with religious extremism.
 • Both shows dealt with the topics related to the extremism by explaining the evils and dangers of the phenomenon of extremism in all its details and circumstances and trying to create a public opinion against extremism. this processing did not reach the required integration stage, as it was not without the effects of ideological convictions and the orientations of those in charge of these shows and the policy of the sponsoring and broadcast channels.
 • Both shows agreed on most of the topics they raised for the dialogue, However, the differences were relatively few.

COMPUTATIONAL AND EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF THE AERODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS FOR A FORWARD SWEPT WING AIRCRAFT
...Show More Authors

The aerodynamic characteristics of the forward swept wing aircraft have been studied theoretically and experimentally. Low order panel method with the Dirichlet boundary condition have been used to solve the case of the steady, inviscid and compressible flow. Experimentally, a model was manufactured from wood to carry out the tests. The primary objective of the experimental work was the measurements of the wake dimensions and orientation, velocity defect along the wake and the wake thickness. A blower type low speed (open jet) wind tunnel was used in the experimental work. The mean velocity at the test section was (9.3 m/s) and the Reynolds number based on the mean aerodynamic chord and the mean velocity was (0.46x105). The measurements sho

A novel method for non-invasively detecting the severity and location of aortic aneurysms
...Show More Authors

The influence of an aortic aneurysm on blood flow waveforms is well established, but how to exploit this link for diagnostic purposes still remains challenging. This work uses a combination of experimental and computational modelling to study how aneurysms of various size affect the waveforms. Experimental studies are carried out on fusiform-type aneurysm models, and a comparison of results with those from a one-dimensional fluid–structure interaction model shows close agreement. Further mathematical analysis of these results allows the definition of several indicators that characterize the impact of an aneurysm on waveforms. These indicators are then further studied in a computational model of a systemic blood flow network. This demonstr

Using WO3/AlPO4 as a solid catalyst for the transesterification of waste edible oils
...Show More Authors

AlPO4 catalysts supported with WO3 were prepared by impregnating the catalysts with ammonium metatungstate. The catalysts were checked by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), AFM, and SEM; also, the catalysts analysis was done by X-Ray (EDX). Finally, the N2 adsorption-desorption was used to measure the pore volume and surface area of the catalyst. The prepared catalyst has a surface area of 185.83 m2/g, pore volume of 0.645 cm3/g at a calcination temperature of 500°C for 3 hrs, and particle size of AlPO4 with an average of 35.36 nm. Transesterification of edible oil using WO3/AlPO4 was performed, it was observed that WO3/AlPO4 catalysts give high conversion of edible oil, and this is attributed to the high surface area, smaller particle size, and the

...Show More Authors

The aim of this research work is to evaluate the use of 980 nm diode laser in clotting the blood
in the bone socket after tooth extraction. The objective is to prevent possible clot dislodgement which is
a defect that may lead to possible infection. A number of rabbits were irradiated using 980nm CW mode
diode laser, 0.86W power output for 9s and 15s exposure time. The irradiated groups were studied
histopathologically in comparison with a control group. Results showed that laser photothermal
coagulation was of benefit in minimizing the possibility of the incidence of postoperative complications.
The formation of the clot reduces the possibility of bleeding and infection.

The Classification of Fetus Gender Based on Fuzzy C-Mean Using a Hybrid Filter
...Show More Authors
Abstract
This paper proposes a new approach, of Clustering Ultrasound images using the Hybrid Filter (CUHF) to determine the gender of the fetus in the early stages. The possible advantage of CUHF, a better result can be achieved when fuzzy c-mean FCM returns incorrect clusters. The proposed approach is conducted in two steps. Firstly, a preprocessing step to decrease the noise presented in ultrasound images by applying the filters: Local Binary Pattern (LBP), median, median and discrete wavelet (DWT), (median, DWT & LBP) and (median & Laplacian) ML. Secondly, implementing Fuzzy C-Mean (FCM) for clustering the resulted images from the first step. Amongst those filters, Median & Lap
... Show More

Creating a Conductive Surface of the PMMA by Laser Cladding with DWCNT and MWCNTS
...Show More Authors

This work studied the electrical and thermal surface conductivity enhancement of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) clouded by double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) and multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNTs) by using pulsed Nd:YAG laser. Variable input factors are considered as the laser energy (or the relevant power), pulse duration and pulse repetition rate. Results indicated that the DWCNTs increased the PMMA’s surface electrical conductivity from 10-15 S/m to 0.813×103 S/m while the MWCNTs raised it to 0.14×103 S/m. Hence, the DWCNTs achieved an increase of almost 6 times than that for the MWCNTs. Moreover, the former increased the thermal conductivity of the surface by 8 times and the later by 5 times.
