Methotrexate (MTX) was used for treatment of malignancies and now is widely used in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. In this research the evaluation of the effects of MTX on some liver enzymes and lipid profile was studied. Twenty four adult female mice divided into three groups (8 mice each). The first two groups were treated with MTX while the third group was used as a control. Carbamazepine (CBZ) is one of many anticonvulsants used to treat trigeminal neuralgia and epilepsy. Antiepileptic drugs (AED`s) are the second most important class of medications that lead to hepatotoxicity and induced liver injury, this study was conducted to evaluate the effects of CBZ on the liver. A total of 40 female mice were taken and divided into four groups (A/treated for 14 days, B/ control, C/ treated for 30 days, D/ control), the drug was given as an oral suspension formula 100mg/5ml at dose 20 mg/kg/mouse via gastric gavage daily for 14 and 30 days. Fractal image compression gives some desirable properties like fast decoding image, and very good rate-distortion curves, but suffers from a high encoding time. In fractal image compression a partitioning of the image into ranges is required. In this work, we introduced good partitioning process by means of merge approach, since some ranges are connected to the others. This paper presents a method to reduce the encoding time of this technique by reducing the number of range blocks based on the computing the statistical measures between them . Experimental results on standard images show that the proposed method yields minimize (decrease) the encoding time and remain the quality results passable visually.
