Iraqi Satellite Music Channels and Their Role in Spreading Negative Values among University Youth
...Show More Authors

This study aims to clarify the role of Iraqi satellite channels in spreading negative values among university youth; and the tendency of this segment to simulate the descending behaviors and pseudo-peculiar concepts of our society, which are displayed through the screens of these channels, based on the relevant media literature such as scientific references and the results of previous studies and research.

The study followed the survey methodology to examine the public based on the questionnaire as a research tool, which was distributed to a sample of male and female students of Baghdad University enrolled in the university for the academic year 2011-2012.

In order to achieve the specific objectives of this research, it has been divided into three topics: The first survey, the methodological framework of the research, which included the problem of research and research hypotheses and the importance of research and methodology and previous studies. The second investigation, dealt with the theoretical framework, which included Iraqi music channels and youth. Whereas, the third one, included the results of the field study, and interpretation of the tables attached as well as general findings and recommendations.

The study reached a number of results, including:

  • More than half of the research sample is exposed to Iraqi satellite channels permanently, and most of the respondents watch satellite channels from two hours to less than 3 hours a day. The high rate of watch hours may leave the viewer behaved, especially young people to become a lot of scenes part of their personality and daily behavior.
  • Males and females agreed to simulate what is presented in these channels in terms of specialization, whether scientific or humanistic.
  • There are no significant differences in terms of gender, and the extent of the respondents' approval to impose censorship on the music channels.
  • The results of the field study indicate that the Iraqi satellite channels contribute to the dissemination of many negative behaviors and values, including the adoption of words and dancing movements, imitation of fashion, fluidity and spreading finery, etc. which achieved high rates and repetitions.

Finally, the great spread of these channels and their impact on the mass culture cannot be ignored and must take this media phenomenon seriously, especially since the media studies that addressed this phenomenon are very few despite the space occupied by the broadcast, and with what offer of values many of them are not positive, and they contradict with the familiar values.

Determination of Mebeverine – HCl Using 3, 5–Dinitrosalicylic Acid and Multiple Continuous Flow Cell That Works as a Solo Flow Cell with 4S×3 – 3D Analyzer
...Show More Authors

A new method, simple and sensitive was utilized in determining mebeverine – HCl (MB-HCl) (3, 4-Dimethoxy benzoic acid ethyl 2, 4 methoxy4-phenyl-1-methyl ethyl amino-butyl ester) in pure and pharmaceutical formulations via utilization this multiple continuous flow cell. The method is dependent on genesis for complex of ion pair(4-((3, 4-dimethoxybenzoyl) oxy)-N-ethyl-N-(1-(4-methoxyphenyl) propan-2-yl) butan-1-aminium-2-hydroxy-3,5- dinitrobenzoate) among mebeverine–HCl (MB-HCl) and 3,5-Dinitrosalicylic acid (3,5-DNSA) in ammonium acetate middle to configure a whiteish yellow precipitate compound via utilizing multiple continuous flow cell that works as a solo flow cell with 4S×3 – 3D analyzer. Pharmacokinetic Consideration to Formulate Sustained Release Drugs: Understanding the Controlled Drug Diffusion through the Body Compartment of the Systemic Circulation and Tissue Medium-A Caputo Model
...Show More Authors

The aim of this study is to provide an overview of various models to study drug diffusion for a sustained period into and within the human body. Emphasized the mathematical compartment models using fractional derivative (Caputo model) approach to investigate the change in sustained drug concentration in different compartments of the human body system through the oral route or the intravenous route. Law of mass action, first-order kinetics, and Fick's perfusion principle were used to develop mathematical compartment models representing sustained drug diffusion throughout the human body. To adequately predict the sustained drug diffusion into various compartments of the human body, consider fractional derivative (Caputo model) to investiga

Synthesis of Mn-Co-Ni Composite Electrode by Anodic and Cathodic Electrodeposition for Indirect Electro-oxidation of Phenol – Optimization of the Removal by Response Surface Methodology
...Show More Authors

In the present work, Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was utilized to optimize process variables and find the best circumstances for indirect electrochemical oxidation of mimicked wastewater to remove phenol contaminants using prepared ternary composite electrode. The electrodeposition process is used for the synthesis of a ternary composite electrode of Mn, Co, and Ni oxides. The selected concentrations of metal salts of these elements were 0.05, 0.1, and 1.5 M, with constant molar ratio, current density, and electrolysis time of 1:1:1, 25 mA/cm2, and 2 h. Interestedly, the gathered Mn-Co-Ni oxides were deposited at both the anode and cathode. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) facilitated the qualitative char

The effect of plasma treatment on shear bond strength of soft denture liner with two different types of denture base material (heat cure and light cure)
...Show More Authors

Background: In this study we evaluate the effect of plasma treatment (oxygen and argon) gas in two different exposure times on the surface of heat cure and light cure acrylic resin. Materials and method: 100 specimens of heat cure and light cure acrylic resin were fabricated. The measurements of the samples were (75mm, 25mm and 4.5mm) length, width and depth respectively with stopper of 3mm depth. Two types of gas used oxygen and argon in (5,10) min by using (DC-glow discharge plasma device) then we apply cold cure soft lining material, with the help of Instron machine we test the shear stress value. Results: A highly significant effect after argon and oxygen gases treatment in both 5 and 10 min exposure times on shear bond strength to soft

Oxidant or Catalyst for Oxidation? A Study of How Structure and Disorder Change the Selectivity for Direct versus Catalytic Oxidation Mediated by Manganese(III,IV) Oxides
...Show More Authors

Structure type and disorder have become important questions in catalyst design, with the most active catalysts often noted to be “disordered” or “amorphous” in nature. To quantify the effects of disorder and structure type systematically, a test set of manganese(III,IV) oxides was developed and their reactivity as oxidants and catalysts tested against three substrates: methylene blue, hydrogen peroxide, and water. We find that disorder destabilizes the materialsthermodynamically, making them stronger chemical oxidantsbut not necessarily better catalysts. For the disproportionation of H2O2 and the oxidative decomposition of methylene blue, MnOx-mediated direct oxidation competes with catalytically mediated oxidation, making the most

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of local application of bisphosphonate gel and recombinant human bone morphogenic protein 2 gel, on titanium dental implant stability and marginal bone level. Twenty-seven patients with upper and lower missing posterior tooth/teeth were included in the study with a total of 71 implants that were used for rehabilitation. The implants were randomly divided into 4 groups: 3 study groups and 1 control. Group1; local application of bisphosphonate gel, group 2; local application of recombinant human bone morphogenic protein 2 gel, group 3; local application of a mixed formula of both gels. The gel application was immediately preimplant insertion, group 4; implant insertion without application of a
