Abstract: The Iraqi alluvial plain is unique in its rare water bodies in the world, varying in area, depth and natural resources, which are the Iraqi marshlands. Specialized researchers have researched the marshlands and their affiliation to the river sediments of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers over time, as they move south towards the Arabian Gulf. In this paper we use the Markov Switching model to investigate the link between the level of Iraqi inflation and its uncertainty; forth period 1980-2010 we measure inflation uncertainty as the variance of unanticipated  inflation.
