...Show More Authors

The research entitled "the Iraqi Topics in International Arab Press" is an analytical study of two newspapers: Al-Arab and Al-Hayat published in London from September 1-30, 2013.

The Arab press is one of the cultural monuments Home stretches for culture and media of Arabs outside the Arab Homeland which made them international press targeting public Arab audience's not civil audiences in a particular country and formulating their contents on this basis taking into account intake affairs and issues that have been national or international.

Because of this international presence of the Arab press, these newspapers have become one of the most influencing media in the formation of Arab public opinions. As a result of this, they have got their importance and drawing their roles in influencing the expatriate Arab reader.

The researcher has used the descriptive approach as well as the way content is analyzed to extract the contents of the articles and reports in the newspapers of the sample down to the most accurate results.

The sample papers have focused on the political topics first, then on the security issues because of their extreme importance on one side, and their relationship with the political process on the other. They have focused on articles and reports neglecting the other journalistic arts. Both study different issues especially those affecting the Iraqi society in general and Iraqi citizen in particular.

The sources from which the sample newspapers have driven the Iraqi issues and affairs are Reuters, u.p.a., France Press Agency, and delegates. The number of writers who have written in Al-Hayat is 15 and in Al-Arab is 9 during the period of this research.

Adsorptive Performance of High Surface Area Date Palm Bunch Activated Carbon Towards Methyl Violet and Fuchsin Basic Dyes Removal: Thermochemical Activation And Statistical Optimization
...Show More Authors

Herein, date palm (Phoenix dactylifera) bunch (DPB) waste was transformed into activated carbon (DPAC) adsorbent by using microwaveinduced ZnCl2 activation for 15 min at a power of 600 W. Several analytical methods were used to explain the physicochemical parameters of DPBAC including XRD, pHpzc, BET, SEM–EDX, and FTIR. Afterwards, the adsorptive performance of DPBAC was thoroughly investigated for the removal of two structurally different organic dyes namely methyl violet (MV) and fuchsin basic (FB). The key adsorption parameters, including the dose of DPBAC (A: 0.02–0.06 g), the solution pH (B: 4–10), and the contact time (C: 2–20 min) were statistically optimized using the Box-Behnken design with response surface methodology (RSM

SYNTHESIS, PHYSICOCHEMICAL ELUCIDATION AND BIOLOGICAL SCREENING STUDY OF NEW LIGAND DERIVED FROM 5,6-O-ISO PROPYLIDENE-L-ASCORBIC ACID AND ITS METAL(II) COMPLEXES
...Show More Authors

A simple chemistry method approach was used to synthesise new ligand derivate from L-ascorbic acid and its complexes. All of them were water-soluble and are used quite extensively in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. This study synthesised the new ligand derivative from L-ascorbic acid-base using the following steps: A 5,6-O-isopropylidene-L-ascorbic acid was prepared by reacting dry acetone with L-ascorbic acid followed by reacting it with trichloroacetic acid to yield [chloro(carboxylic)methylidene]-5,6-O-isopropylidene-L-ascorbic acid in the second stage. In the third stage, the derivative was reacted with (methyl(6-methyl-2-pyridylmethyl)amine to create a new ligand (ONMILA). This novel ligand was identified using a number
