Four localities were selected in Euphrates River and Ramadi sewage treatment plant to collect water samples monthly during the period between October 2001 to July 2002 . Total cell count of phytoplankton and its physico- chemical concentrations were determined . The study aimed to demonstrate the effect of Ramadi sewage treatment plant on Euhprates River . It is concluded that the sewage had an dilution effect for the total hardness , total alkalinity , electrical conductivity and salinity of Euphrates River , but it is also caused in the presence of a contaminated area .      The present study aims to investigate the effect of wheat natural phytase, fermentation and baking processes in the destruction of phytic acid during the process of making wheat bread for some Iraqi mills. The concentration of phytic acid was (850.32, 802.14, 531.84 mg / 100g) for the flour of AL-Brairie, AL-Nesr and AL-Al-Doura mills respectively. At the end of the fermentation processes, the decrease in the concentration of phytic acid in the samples produced from the flour obtained from the three mills was (47.06, 26.98, 40.00%) respectively, while inorganic phosphorus concentration in all treatments increased by 32.4, 42.37 and 36.21 %, respectively. Background: Diabetes and periodontitis are considered as chronic diseases with a bidirectional relationship between them. This study aimed to determine and compare the severity of periodontal health status and salivary parameters in diabetic and non-diabetic patients with chronic periodontitis. Materials and Methods: Seventy participants were enrolled in this study. The subjects were divided into three groups: Group I: 25 patients had type 2 diabetes mellitus with chronic periodontitis, Group 2: 25 patients had chronic periodontitis and with no history of any systemic diseases, Group 3: 20 subjects had healthy periodontium and were systemically healthy. Unstimulated whole saliva was collected for measurement of salivary flow rate and pH.
