Synthesis and Characterization of Some New Mixed- Ligand Complexes Containing Schiff Base and 3-Picoline with Some Metal Salts

Some metal ions (Mn+2, Co+2, Ni+2, Cu+2,Zn+2 and Cd+2) complexes of quodridentats Schiff base derived from (2-hydroxy benzaldehyde and 4,4'-methylenedianiline as primary ligand and 3-picoline (3-pic) secondary ligand have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of their 1H ,13C-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, conductivity measurements, elemental analysis, and magnetic moments, metal to ligands ratio in all complexes has been found to be (1:1:2) (M:Schiff base:3-pic), Schiff base behaves as neutral tetra dentate ligand with (N2,O2) system from the results obtained, the following general formula has suggested for the prepared complexes [M+2(2-mbd)(3-pic)2] and octahedral stereochemistry, Where M+2 = (Mn , Co , Ni , Cu , Zn and Cd), 2-mbd = 2,2'-(1E,1'E)-(4,4'-methylene bis (4,1-phenylene ) bis (azan-1-yl-1-ylidene) bis(methan-1- yl-1-ylidene)diphenol (2-mbd), 3-pic = 3-picoline.

Synthesis of Tetra Dentate N2O2 and their Complexes With Cu[II), Zn[II), Cd[II) and Hg[II) Ions.

A Schiff base ligand 1,2-[Bis-(1-phenyl-2-hydroxy-2-phenyl)-amino] benzene [H2L] and its complexes with (Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II)) ions are reported. The ligand was prepared by condensation reaction of ortho-phenylenediamine in methanol under reflux with benzoin to give the mentioned ligand. Then the complexes were synthesized by adding corresponding metal salts to the solution of the ligand in methanol under reflux with 1:1 metal to ligand ratio. On the basis of molar conductance I.R., U.V-Vis, HPLC, chloride content and atomic absorption the complexes may be formulated as K2[M(L)Cl2][MII = Cu, Zn, Cd and Hg]. The data of these measurements suggest a tetrahedral geometry to complexes Cu, Zn, Cd and Hg.

Synthesis and Characterization of New Fused Heterocyclic Compounds Consisting of Benzodiazepine, Quinoxaline, Benzimidazole and Thiazole Rings

In this study, new heterocyclic compounds were synthesized through the cyclization reactions of o-phenylenediamine (1) with various organic reagents. Benzodiazepine derivatives (2-4) were obtained by reaction of (1) with ethylacetoacetate, malonic acid and acetyl acetone.Treatment of compound (1) with chloroacetamide, chloroacetic acid, p-bromophenacyl bromide and oxalic acid dihydrate afforded quinoxaline derivatives (5-8), respectively. Reaction of compound (1) with benzoic acid, piperonal, cyclohexanone and carbon disulfide resulted in the formation of compounds (9-12), respectively. Finally, reaction of compound (12) with chloroacetic acid in the presence of potassium hydroxide produced compound (13).

Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of Nitrogen-Containing Anthraquinone Derivatives

A New Series of Triazine-core Based Mesogenic Derivatives: Synthesis, Characterization and Mesomorphic Study

The synthesis, characterization and mesomorphic properties of two new series of triazine-core based liquid crystals have been investigated. The amino triazine derivatives were characterized by elemental analysis, Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR), 1HNMR and mass spectroscopy. The liquid crystalline properties of these compounds were examined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polarizing optical microscopy (POM). DSC and POM confirmed nematic (N) and columnar mesophase textures of the materials. The formation of mesomorphic properties was found to be dependent on the number of methylene unit in alkoxy side chains.

Synthesis, Characterization of New Azo Compounds and Studies Effect on the Ach Enzyme(Invitro)

The inhibitory effects of prepared compounds on the activity of human serum cholinesterase have been studied in vitro. Different concentrations of study the type of inhibition. The results form line weaver-Burk plot indicated that the inhibitor type was noncompetitive with a range (33.12-78.99%).
