Some metal ions (Mn+2, Co+2, Ni+2, Cu+2,Zn+2 and Cd+2) complexes of quodridentats Schiff base derived from (2-hydroxy benzaldehyde and 4,4'-methylenedianiline as primary ligand and 3-picoline (3-pic) secondary ligand have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of their 1H ,13C-NMR, FT-IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, conductivity measurements, elemental analysis, and magnetic moments, metal to ligands ratio in all complexes has been found to be (1:1:2) (M:Schiff base:3-pic), Schiff base behaves as neutral tetra dentate ligand with (N2,O2) system from the results obtained, the following general formula has suggested for the prepared complexes [M+2(2-mbd)(3-pic)2] and octahedral stereochemistry, Where M+2 = (Mn , Co , Ni , Cu , Zn and Cd), 2-mbd = 2,2'-(1E,1'E)-(4,4'-methylene bis (4,1-phenylene ) bis (azan-1-yl-1-ylidene) bis(methan-1- yl-1-ylidene)diphenol (2-mbd), 3-pic = 3-picoline.
The study involved the synthesis of new complexes with tetradentate ligand (LH). The general formula of complexes was [M(LH)(H2O)2] with M of Ni2+, Co2+, Cu2+, and Zn+. The ligand was synthesized by treating the 2-hydroxybenzohydrazide with salicylaldehyde. The structural characteristics of ligands and complexes were analyzed using various techniques, including elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductivity, infrared, ultraviolet absorption, mass, and NMR spectroscopy studies. The physical measurements indicated that the prepared complexes are non-electrolyte and showed that the ligand is tetradentate when coordinated with metal ions through the nitrogen of azomethine (–C=N–), two oxygen atoms of O–H phenolic,

The analytical data showed that all chelate complexes were prepared with (metal-ligand) ratio of (1:2). The general formula of these complexes was [ML2X2]. nH2O [were L=2-[(4`-sulphamide phenyl) azo]-4,5-diphenyl imidazole and X=Cl, and the octahedral geometry were suggested for these complexes .
Six mixed ligand complexes were prepared from malonic acid (MA), nicotinic acid (NA), and 2-aminopyridine (AP) in a (1:1:1:1) molar ratio (M: MA: NA: AP.), using aqueous ethanol as a reaction medium. The prepared compounds were analyzed by flame atomic absorption, (C.H.N.) analysis, and FTIR, UV-Vis, and mass spectroscopy, as well as conductivity measurement and magnetic susceptibility studies. Based on the combined analytical data, the prepared complexes were proposed to adopt an octahedral geometry. Compounds diagnosed by TGA, 1 H, 13CNMR and Mass spectra (for (P)), Fourier-transform infrared and Electronic spectrum, Magnetic measurement, molar conduct, (%M, %C, %H, %N). These measurements indicate that (P) is associated with the metal ion in a bi-dentate fashion by nitrogen atoms (the amide group), and the octahedral composition of these complexes is suggested.
