The 2000 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to Alan J. Heeger, Alan G. MacDiarmid, and Hideki Shirakawa for the discovery and development of conductive polymers, particularly polyacetylene. Since then, research on conducting polymers has progressed rapidly, with sustained focus on their morphology, structural design, and technological applications. This paper presents a comprehensive review of conducting polymers, focusing on their structure, synthesis, and applications in electrical, optical, and energy-conversion technologies. Prominent systems – including polyaniline, polypyrrole, polythiophene, polyacetylene, poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV), poly(p-phenylene) (PPP), and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) – are discussed with respect to their doping mechanisms, charge-transport behavior, optical properties, and mechanical performance. Molecular engineering strategies for optimizing backbone and side-chain architectures to enhance conductivity, stability, and functionality are examined. Applications of conducting polymers in emerging technologies such as organic photovoltaics, fuel cells, metal-free rechargeable batteries, supercapacitors, light-emitting diodes, sensors, and bioelectronic devices are reviewed. Recent advances in polymer – nanomaterial composites, machine-learning-assisted materials optimization, and scalable manufacturing approaches, particularly roll-to-roll processing, are highlighted as key developments addressing challenges related to environmental stability, film quality, and charge transport. Remaining limitations and future research directions for the large-scale commercialization of flexible, wearable, and sustainable electronic devices are identified.
Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a hereditary ailment that can cause severe pain and suffering to people who are affected. However, with continued investment in research and treatment options, we can make progress towards improving the lives of those with SCD. Over 40% of patients experience painful vaso-occlusive crises (VOCs), so we must work towards finding solutions and providing support for those living with this condition, These episodes, a hallmark of SCD, significantly contribute to morbidity, mortality, and a diminished quality of life, while also incurring substantial healthcare costs. Chronic pain particularly affects older adolescents and adults with SCD, with over half reporting daily discomfort. Opioid-based analgesics, though sti

The bonded fixed retainer is characterized by its clinical effectiveness, patient acceptance, and lack of patient complaints as compared with a removable retainer. An electronic database (such as PubMed, PubMed Central, Web of Science, Science Direct, Cochrane Library, Scopus, and ResearchGate) has been collected using specific keywords. Of the 152 articles, only randomized clinical trials that investigated different types of fixed retainers or compared fixed with removable retainers were illustrated in tables and included in this review. With a proposed dimension of 26 × 46 × 0.8 mm3, the medium-structured and small-sized MIMO antenna was not only found to have demonstrated a high degree of isolation and efficiency, it had also exhibited a lower level of envelope correlation coefficient and return loss, which are well-suited for the 5G bands application. From the fabrication of an inexpensive FR4 substrate with a 0.8 mm thickness level, a loss tang

Here, a broccoli-mediated gold/platinum nanohybrid (Au@Pt NH) was synthesized using an ultrasound-assisted green method with an aqueous extract of Brassica oleracea var. italica for multifunctional biomedical evaluation. XRD and TEM confirmed a crystalline nanohybrid with an average crystallite size of 7.56 nm and a mean particle diameter of 13.08 ± 7.58 nm. The broccoli extract produced no inhibition zones, whereas Au@Pt NH inhibited Staphylococcus aureus (18 mm), Staphylococcus epidermidis (21 mm), Escherichia coli (18 mm), Klebsiella pneumoniae (20 mm), and Candida albicans (21 mm). Lévy processes are powerful tools for representing phenomena with continuous trends with abrupt changes. The proposed approach is validated through a simulated biological case study on animal migration in which movements are mo
