This study addresses the selection of the optimal site for establishing a waste landfill within the study area by utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) techniques integrated with the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodology and the Weighted Overlay tool for multi-criteria spatial analysis. Six key criteria influencing site suitability were identified, including distance from urban areas, agricultural lands, irrigation canals, roads, villages, and barren (uncultivated and uninhabited) areas, with a focus on potential environmental and health impacts. The results indicate that ideal landfill sites are located at distances exceeding 800 to 1000 meters from agricultural and urban areas, providing effective protection to soil and groundwater while reducing air pollution and health risks. The analysis also highlights that proximity to barren areas constitutes a positive environmental factor enhancing site suitability due to minimal human and agricultural activities, thereby mitigating negative environmental impacts.A pairwise comparison matrix based on Saaty’s scale was constructed within the AHP framework, revealing that distance from urban areas carries the greatest weight (34.1%), followed by distance from barren areas (25.2%) and agricultural lands (17.6%), whereas criteria related to roads, irrigation canals, and villages held lower weights. Spatial overlay of weighted layers produced a final suitability map classifying sites into three categories: highly suitable, conditionally suitable, and unsuitable. Highly suitable areas were predominantly concentrated in barren regions adjacent to road networks, facilitating landfill operations while minimizing environmental impacts. The study underscores the importance of integrating environmental, social, and technical criteria in a data-driven decision-making process for selecting landfill sites that balance environmental protection with operational efficiency. It also recommends implementing advanced environmental protection systems in moderately suitable sites to mitigate potential risks and conducting continuous field assessments to ensure environmental sustainability
The railways network is one of the huge infrastructure projects. Therefore, dealing with these projects such as analyzing and developing should be done using appropriate tools, i.e. GIS tools. Because, traditional methods will consume resources, time, money and the results maybe not accurate. In this research, the train stations in all of Iraq’s provinces were studied and analyzed using network analysis, which is one of the most powerful techniques within GIS. A free trial copy of ArcGIS®10.2 software was used in this research in order to achieve the aim of this study. The analysis of current train stations has been done depending on the road network, because people used roads to reach those train stations. The data layers for this st

The study relied mainly on the statistical method (analytical method) from the collection of data tools (questionnaire) that was distributed electronically (Google Forms) to the sample community of (55) instructors. The feedback received illustrates that (46) instructors among those who participated in the questionnaire subscribed to (LinkedIn) and the rest did not. Their data was analyzed statistically, and the general arithmetic mean and the hypothetical mean was extracted for them to achieve the objectives of the study and prove their hypotheses. And the multiplicity of forms and types according to the different reasons for it and the motives that prompted the population to move, as well as the currents and their size are also different according to the different causes, and here there are many types of migration, and many of them have been studied at the local and regional levels, and as long as the population is in a continuous dynamic movement, other types of migration are generated. Public agencies are usually facing challenges in managing land prices in religious areas. Therefore, they require developed models or tools to understand land prices within religious cities. Predicting land prices can efficiently retain future management and develop urban lands within religious cities. This study proposed a new methodology to predict urban land prices within holy cities. The methodology is based on two models, Linear Regression (LR) and Support Vector Regression (SVR), and nine variables (land price, land area,
