1-[4-(2-Hydroxy-4, 6-dimethyl-phenylazo)-phenol]-ethanone (HL1) and 2-(4-methoxy-phenylazo)-3, 5- dimethyl-phenol (HL2) were produced by combination the diazonium salts of amines with 3, 5- dimethylphenol. The geometry of azo compounds was resolved on the basis of (C.H.N) analyses, 1H and 13CNMR, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic mechanisms. Complexes of La (III) and Rh (III) have been performed and depicted. The formation of complexes has been identified by using elemental analysis, FTIR and UV-Vis spectroscopic process as well, conductivity molar quantifications. Nature of complexes produced have been studied obeyed mole ratio and continuous alteration ways, Beer's law followed through a concentration scope (1×10-4 - 3×10-4 M). High molar absorbtivity from the compound solutions were noticed. Analytical data showed that all the complexes offered 1:3 metal-ligand ratios. In the radix from physicochemical datum an octahedral structure was described of the complexes. Biological activity of these compounds was assayed. Other than, the dyeing carried out of the produced compounds was practical in cotton fabric. The dyes were checked into light and detergent firmness.
Metal complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), Hg(II), Pd(II), and Pt(II) with Schiff base ligand (LH) derived from 2,5-dichloroaniline and 2-hydroxy-5-metheylbenzalaldehyde were synthesized and characterized using a variety of spectrophotometric techniques The findings of the spectroscopic analysis indicated that (LH) behaved as a binary coordinating agent to the metal ion by the N and O atoms, and the geometry shape of the complexes was octahedral, with the exception of the Pd and Pt complexes, which had a square planar geometry. Using the DPPH radical scavenging method, we investigated the antimicrobial activity of the compound against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, as well as the antifungal activity of t

Show MoreThe present study was carried out to determine the bacterial isolates and study their antimicrobial susceptibility in case of burned wound infections. 70 burn wound swabs were taken from patients, who presented invasive burn wound infection from both sex and average age of 3-58 years, admitted to teaching medical Al- Kendi hospital from October 2007 to June 2008. Pseudomonas aeruginosa was found to be the most common isolate (48.9%) followed by Staphylococcus aureus (24.4%), Citrobacter braakii (13.3%), Enterobacter spp. (11.1%), Coagulase-negative Staphylococci (11.1%), Proteus vulgaris (6.66%), Corynebacterium spp. (6.66%), Micrococcus (6.66%), Proteus mirabilis (4.44%), Enterococcus faecalis (4.44%), E.coli (4.44%), Klebsiella spp. (2.22

A general rate multi- component model (GRM) has been utilized to predict the fixed bed breakthrough curves for single and dual- component system. This model considers both external and internal mass transfer resistances as well as axial dispersion with non-liner multi-component isotherm (Langmuir model). The effects of important parameters, such as flow rate, initial concentration and bed height on the behavior of breakthrough curves have been studied. The equilibrium isotherm model parameters such as maximum uptake capacities for lead (II) and chromium (III) were found to be 35.12 and

Biosorption of heavy metals from aqueous solutions is a new technology for the treatment of industrial wastewater. The aim of the present research is to highlight the basic biosorption theory to heavy metal removal. Materials and methods Heterogeneous cultures mostly dried anaerobic bacteria, yeast (fungi), and protozoa were used as low-cost material to remove metallic cations Pb(II), Cr(III), and Cd(II) from synthetic wastewater. Competitive biosorption of these metals was studied. Results The main biosorption mechanisms were complexation and physical adsorption onto natural active functional groups. It is observed that

All synthesized compounds were characterized by thin layer chromatography (TLC) and FTIR spectra and aldehyde was also characterized by (U.V-Vis), 1HNMR, 13CNMR and mass spectra. They were also evaluated for antimicrobial properties by dilute method against four pathogenic bacteria (Escherichia coli ,Klebsiella pneumonae, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus Albus) and two fungal (Aspergillus Niger, Yeast). All polymer metal complexes showed good activities against the various microbial isolates. The polymer metal complexes showed higher activity than the free polymer. The order of increa

The ligand and the complexes were isolated and characterized in solid state by using FT-IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, 1H, 13C-NMR, flame atomic absorption, elemental micro analysis C.H.N.S, magnetic susceptibility , melting points and conductivity measurements. 2-Benzoyl thiobenzimiazole behaves as bidenetate through oxygen atom of carbonyl group and nitrogen atom of imine group. From the analyses Octahedral geometry was suggested for all prepared complexes. A theoretical treatment of ligands and their metal complexes in gas phase were studied using HyperChem-8 program, moreover, ligands in gas phase

The aim of this model of study is to obtain analytical results characterized by adequate standard of analytical figures of merits through application of derivative Spectrophotometry (dnA/d?n). The two metals acetyl acetonates are chemically stable and are widely used as catalysts . Where Interferences are probable due to very close or nearby peaks or Summits, the Zero – Crossing derivative measurement technique is used to avoid interfering effects between two metals pairs.
Natural polymers are often non-toxic, biodegradable, biocompatible, and safe. A novel ligand was synthesized as a natural polymer using chitosan and oleander plant extract [(2R,3S,4R,5S)-5-(acetoxyamino)-4-hydroxy-3,6-dimethoxytetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl) methyl (16R)-3-(((2S,4S,5R)-4-methoxy-2,5-dimethyltetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-yl)oxy-10,13,16-trimethyl-17-(5-oxo-2,5-dihydrofuran-3-yl) hexadecahydro-14H-cyclopenta [a] phenanthren-14-yl) phthalate] (Chitosan-Ph-Oleander). This ligand and its complexes with several metals (Cr+3, Mn+2, Fe+3, Ni+2, Cu+2, Zn+2) were characterized using FTIR, UV-visible and 1H-NMR spectroscopy, as well as by molar conductivity, magnetic moment, and TGA analysis. The biological activity for the prepared polymer
