Background: The relation between insulin resistance ,leptin levels and other hormones in women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) is still controversial.Metformin therapy is proved effective in reducing insulin resistance and also in some studies it was seen to be effective in reducing leptin levels.

Objective: to study the effect of metformin on reducing leptin levels and enhancing ovulation in PCOS women.
Methods:metformin 500mg 3 times daily for 3 months was was given to 36 women
with proved PCOS, in addition to that, other parameters were included.
Results:28 women out of 36(77.78%) showed an evidence of ovulation ovulation after 3 months of metformin therapy(p<0.01)

Coupling reaction of 4-amino antipyrene with 4-amino benzoic acid gave bidentate azo ligand. The prepared ligand was identified by Microelemental Analysis, 1HNMR, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic techniques.             The present study aimed to investigate the histological changes of heart, lung, liver and kidney which caused by different concentrations (10, 20 and 40 mg/kg) of Ivabradine. Results of the study revealed some histological changes represented by aggregation of the lymphocytes around respiratory bronchioles of the lung. Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Cr(III) metal complexes with the ligand (L) [3-(2nitro benzylidene) amino-2-thioxoimidazolidin-4-one] have been prepared and characterized in their solid state using the elemental micro analysis (C.H.N.S), flame atomic absorption, UV-Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR, magnetic susceptibility measurements, and electrical molar conductivity. The ratio of metal to ligand [M:L] was got for all complexes in the ethanol by using the molar ratio method, which produced comparable results with those results obtained for the solid complexes. From the data of all techniques, octahedral geometry was proposed for Cr(III), Mn(II), and Co(II) complexes, while tetrahedral structure was proposed for Ni(II), Cu(II) complexes.
