Language is an instrument, a tool of culture and a way of communication between the past and the present. No one can know the treasure of human thought and experience in the fields of history, poetry and prose without language as an instrument of communication between cultures and peoples. Language under this description faces many problems, the most important of which is linguistic globalization, which means the flow rate of the strongest language, which has elements of power, domination and control over other languages. In this article, we consider linguistic globalization as a serious problem faced by every language, and we consider its main shortcomings and advantages and its impact on the language and ways of protecting the Arabic language from this serious problem.

This study was carried out to determine the heavy metal accumulation of Juncus rigidus Desfontaines, 1798 from three different regions of the Basrah Province in Southern of Iraq. Specifically, the concentrations of lead, nickel, and cadmium were determined in the roots, culms and leaves of the plant. The results indicated that the highest accumulation of the heavy metal was recorded in lead (Pb) 12.50± 3.58 mg kg-1and then in nickel (< 0.30). The lowest value was recorded for cadmium (< 0.05). The aim of this study was to assess the nutritional status for samples at the age of 17-15 years. These samples were taken from secondary schools and universities in Baghdad area, 123 of them were male and 261 were female. Data on weight, height and body mass index (BMI) were determined in each individual. Smaller sample of 215 individuals (male and female) from the original sample was taken in order to record their nutritional behavior and daily food intake during the 24 hours prior to the visit through personal meeting using special questionnaire.
