Evaluation of mechanical properties and cytotoxicity of maxillofacial silicone material after incorporation of zirconia nanopowder
...Show More Authors

Resilient polymeric materials such as silicone elastomers are currently used for maxillofacial prostheses construction but the strength of these materials and their clinical performance need to be optimized with the addition of reinforcing fillers. This study investigates the effect of zirconia nanopowder addition on tear strength, tensile strength, elongation at break, Shore A hardness, surface roughness and cytotoxicity of VST-50 maxillofacial silicone. Silicone base was mixed with different amounts (1%, 2% and 3%) of zirconia nanopowder using a vacuum mixer. Silicone without filler was used as control for comparison. Scanning Electron Microscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy were utilized to assess the efficiency of high-shear vacuum mixing as filler dispersion method and the surface topography, respectively. Both SEM and AFM images showed that the zirconia nanopowder were distributed fairly well within the polymer. Statistically, highly significant increase in tear strength, tensile strength and hardness with non-significant decrease in elongation at break and non-significant increase in surface roughness were seen with 1% and 2% groups. Whereas with 3% group, there was significant improvement in tear strength, tensile strength and hardness but there was significant undesirable decrease in elongation and increase in roughness. Cytotoxicity test revealed that the addition of zirconia nanopowder was nontoxic to Rat Embryonic Fibroblast (REF) cells and there was non-significant change in the cell viability of all study groups after 24- and 72-hours incubation periods. In conclusion, the addition of 2% by weight nano zirconia to VST-50 maxillofacial silicone could be beneficial in enhancing its performance.

Properties of a Complete Fuzzy Normed Algebra
...Show More Authors

The aim of this paper is to translate the basic properties of the classical complete normed algebra to the complete fuzzy normed algebra at this end a proof of multiplication fuzzy continuous is given. Also a proof of every fuzzy normed algebra  without identity can be embedded into fuzzy normed algebra  with identity  and  is an ideal in  is given. Moreover the proof of the resolvent set of a non zero element in complete fuzzy normed space is equal to the set of complex numbers is given. Finally basic properties of the resolvent space of a complete fuzzy normed algebra is given.

Non Linear Optical Properties of Silver Nanoparticles
...Show More Authors

In the present work, a Z-scan technique was used to study the nonlinear optical properties, represented by the nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear absorption coefficients of the Ag nanoparticles. In this technique, a pulsed second harmonic Nd :YAG laser at wavelength 532 nm was used. The results show that the nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear absorption coefficients of the Ag nanoparticles are found to be dependent on the size these nanoparticles.

Optical Properties of Obliquely Evaporated Manganese Films
...Show More Authors

The Manganese (Mn) thin films of obliquely and normal deposited were prepared by using thermal evaporation method at pressure 10-5 torr on glass substrate at room temperature. The optical properties of normal and obliquely deposited films are studied and also the effect of deposition angle on these properties. The deposition angle has great influence on the increase of the absorbance, absorption coefficient, extinction coefficient and imaginary dielectric constant and the decrease of the transmittance, reflectance, refractive index and real dielectric constant.

Properties of a General Fuzzy Normed Space
...Show More Authors

The aim of this paper is to introduce the definition of a general fuzzy norned space as a generalization of the notion fuzzy normed space after that some illustrative examples are given then basic properties of this space are investigated and proved.

For example when V and U are two general fuzzy normed spaces then the operator  is a general fuzzy continuous at u  V if and only if u in V implies S(u) in U.

Some Properties of Fuzzy Inner Product Space
...Show More Authors

Our goal in the present paper is to introduce a new type of fuzzy inner product space. After that, to illustrate this notion, some examples are introduced. Then we prove that that every fuzzy inner product space is a fuzzy normed space. We also prove that the cross product of two fuzzy inner spaces is again a fuzzy inner product space. Next, we prove that the fuzzy inner product is a non decreasing function. Finally, if U is a fuzzy complete fuzzy inner product space and D is a fuzzy closed subspace of U, then we prove that U can be written as a direct sum of D and the fuzzy orthogonal complement    of D.

Superconducting Properties of Bi2-xPb0.3WxSr2Ca2Cu3O10+ Compounds
...Show More Authors

The conventional solid-state reaction method was utilized to prepare a series of superconducting samples of the nominal composition Bi2-xPb0.3WxSr2Ca2Cu3O10+d with 0≤x≤0.5 of 50 nm particle size of tungsten sintered at 8500C for 140h in air . The influence of substitution with W NPs at bismuth (Bi) sites was characterized by the X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and dc electrical resistivity. Room temperature X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that there exists two phases, i.e. Bi-(2223) and Bi-(2212), in addition to the impurity phases of (SrCa) 2Cu2O3, Sr2Ca2Cu7<

Single crystals of pure and Cu+2,Fe+2 doped potassium sulfate were grown from aqueous solutions by the slow evaporation technique at room temperature. with dimension of (11x9 x4)mm3 and ( 10x 8x 5)mm3 for crystal doping with Cu &Fe respectively. The influence of doping on crystal growth and its structure revealed a change in their lattice parameters(a=7.479 Ã… ,b=10.079 Ã… ,c=5.772 Ã…)for pure and doping (a=9.687 Ã…, b=14.926 Ã… ,c= 9.125 Ã…) & (a=9.638 Ã… , b= 8.045 Ã… ,c=3.271 Ã…) for Cu & Fe respectively.
