A prospective study was conducted to investigate antibody against GAS in children patients and asymptomatic healthy carriers in serum samples with tonsillitis and compare antibody response (ASO) between patients and healthy carriers with tonsillitis.

One hundred specimens (urine and sputum) were collected in sterilized containers from patients attending two hospitals in Baghdad province including: Educational Al-Karama Hospital and Educational Al-Yarmouk Hospital, in which, thirty-eight K. pneumoniae isolate were obtained out of one hundred specimens, all of which are of urine origin. Seventy-six urine specimens were collected from of patients suffering from recurrent
urinary tract infections (UTIs). Specimens were bacteriologically analyzed, fifty
(65.8%) of isolated bacterial strains were belonged to E.coli. 100% of isolated
uropathogenic E.coli (UPEC)strains displayed a biofilm positive phenotype under
optimized condition using microtiter plate assay. 21 of E.coli strains classified as highly

The discharged water from tannery plants is main source for pollution of soil and groundwater, especially in Nahrawan area. Water samples is collected from 10 sites of wells, discharged water and from using water in different levels of tannery and 7 soil samples from different sites inside factories area and outside it.
