Far Infrared Photoconductive Detector Based on Multi-Wall Carbon Nanotubes

Far infrared photoconductive detectors based on multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were fabricated and their characteristics were tested. MWCNTs films deposited on porous silicon (PSi) nanosurface by dip and drop coating techniques. Two types of deposited methods were used; dip coating sand drop –by-drop methods. As well as two types of detector were fabricated one with aluminum mask and the other without, and their figures of merits were studied. The detectors were illuminated by 2.2 and 2.5 Watt from CO2 of 10.6 􀀀m and tested. The surface morphology for the films is studied using AFM and SEM micrographs. The films show homogeneous distributed for CNTs on the PSi layer. The root mean square (r.m.s.) of the films surface roughness indicates a smooth surface of the synthesized films. The Raman spectrum at room temperature for MWCNTs, are dominated by the two typical lines at about 1335.4 cm-1 (D line) and 1563.2 cm-1 (G line) assigned to the disorder induced by defects and curvature in the nanotubes lattice, and to the in-plane vibration of the C–C bonds, respectively. The results reflect a good IR radiation sensitivity and photoconductive gain, while the specific detectivity was in order of 107 cm.Hz1/2/W.

The influence of frictional facing thickness on the contact pressure distribution of multi-disc dry clutches

As a result of this operation the surface temperature is increased rapidly due to the difference in speed between the driving and driven parts. Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization Techniques for Solving Multi-Objectives on Single Machine Scheduling Problem

In this paper, two of the local search algorithms are used (genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization), in scheduling number of products (n jobs) on a single machine to minimize a multi-objective function which is denoted as  (total completion time, total tardiness, total earliness and the total late work). A branch and bound (BAB) method is used for comparing the results for (n) jobs starting from (5-18). The results show that the two algorithms have found the optimal and near optimal solutions in an appropriate times.

the presence carbon black (UV absorber) and immersion in the water for 30 days .
Dielectric properties were calculated over the frequency range 102 – 106 Hz for epoxy composites with different weight % of micrometer 1.5μm SiO2 particles (60%, 65% and 70wt%) modified with 0.5wt% silane coupling agent to improve adhesion between EP and SiO2 phases .

EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON CORROSION OF CARBON STEEL BOILER TUBES IN DILUTE SODUIM CHLORIDE SOLUTION

The corrosion behavior of carbon steel at different Temperatures and in water containing different sodium chloride
concentrations under 3 bar pressure has been investigated using weight loss method . The carbon steel specimens were
immersed in water containing (100,400,700,1000PPM) of NaCl solution and under temperature was increased from
(90-120ºC) under pressures of 3 bar. The results of this investigation indicated that corrosion rate increased with NaCl

EFFECT OF THE SAND MOULD ADDITIVES ON SOME MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF CARBON STEEL CK45 CASTS

The research targets study of influence of additives on sand mold’s properties and, consequently, on
that of carbon steel CK45 casts produced by three molds. Three materials were selected for addition
to sand mix at weight percentages. These are sodium carbonates, glycerin and oat flour. Sand molds
of studied properties were produced to get casts from such molds. The required tests were made to

The Effect of Increasing Carbon Concentration Increasing on the Mechanical Properties of TiCx Thin Films

Carbides or nitrides thin films present materials with good mechanical properties for industrial applications as they can be coatings at low temperatures serve temperature sensitive surfaces. In this work the effect of the C percentage on the mechanical properties represented by the Young modulus (E) of combinatorial magnetron sputtered TiCx (34%x˂65%) has been studied. The structure of the produced films is TiC independent on the C concentration. The mechanical properties are increased with increasing the C concentration up to 50%, and then decreasing with further C % increasing. These results can be explained by considering the resultant residual stresses.

The Effect of Walled Nano-Carbon on the Physical, Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Epoxy

The physical, the thermal and the mechanical properties of Nano-composites, that consisted of Polyprime EP epoxy that reinforced by multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), have been studied. Studying the effect of temperature and treating time on some physical properties of carbon black

Samples prepared by using carbon black as a filler material and phenolic resin as a binder. The samples were pressed in a (3) cm diameter cylindrical die to (250)MPa and treated thermally within temperature range of (600-1000)oC for two and three hours.
