Jeed Formation (Upper Maastrichtian–Lower Danian) Western Iraq: A New Siliceous-Phosphatic Lithostratigraphic Unit
...Show More Authors

The Jeed Formation (Upper Maastrichtian to Lower Danian) in the Western Desert of Iraq is a new proposed mixed lithostratigraphic succession containing various rock types, including phosphatic, siliceous, calcareous, siliciclastic, and other mineralogical contents (carbonate flouraptite, quartz, calcite, dolomite, opal-CT, smectite, palygorskite, sepiolite, kaolinite, and locally zeolite). The current study presents a review compliant with ICS standards and a revised lithostratigraphic framework for the Jeed Formation, based on a synthesis of historical usage, stratigraphic evolution, and previous miscorrelations, along with contributions from new data from integrated lithological, mineralogical, and microfacies datasets. The formation has been formally redefined and recognized as the correct stratigraphic unit, thus replacing the earlier misapplied Upper Campanian-Lower Maastrichtian Digma Formation in Western Iraq. The Jeed Formation consists of two members: the Upper Maastrichtian Safra Member and the Lower Danian Trafawi Member, each subdivided into two beds: lower and upper. The upper Maastrichtian member shares the same depositional phase as the lower Danian member, with a symmetrical lithological architecture and comparable depositional basins, indicating a series of identical lithofacies controlled by regional and continental factors rather than local ones. The Cretaceous-Paleogene (K/Pg) transition is marked by a geologically significant unconformity that extends across the entire region and serves as a marker for the Safra /Trafawi member boundary. Regional correlation between the Muwaqqar Chalk Marl Formation of Jordan, the Jalamid Formation of northern Saudi Arabia, and the Dakhla Formation of Egypt highlights the role of the Jeed Formation within a continuous Maastrichtian–Danian phosphogenic belt along the southern margin of the Tethys Ocean.

Deliberative in Western and Arab thought Selections from the poems of the Encyclopedia of Fatimids, for example

This research attempts to dust briefly the concept of deliberativeness in Arabic rhetoric, which was only understood in light of modern Western linguistics, starting with its definition (conformity of speech to the necessity of the case with its eloquence) which contains the elements of the entire creative process as shown by this brief study, in the first chapter that He was labeled (deliberative in Western and Arab thought), and we had started it with deliberation in western thought in the first topic in an attempt to highlight the western concepts of this term so that we could discern its originality in the Arab rhetorical heritage that came next in the second topic (deliberative in Arab thought), explaining the appropriate Th

The technical mediator in contemporary Iraqi formation

The current research (technical mediator in contemporary Iraqi painting) dealt with the concept of technical mediator in contemporary arts and its role in the qualitative transformation in art, the diversity of discoveries in technical media that artists use in their artistic achievement, and the extent of their impact on contemporary Iraqi painting, where the research problem was identified (what is The nature and role of technical media in showing works in contemporary Iraqi painting) and (What are the intellectual and aesthetic concepts of media and techniques as references for contemporary art in Iraq). The second topic dealt with technical media and their impact on the plastic arts, and the third topic focused on the technical med

The Aesthetic Variable in Contemporary Sculptural Formation

The deviation in the formal idiomatic circulation of the body is nothing more than a response to the new currency; The (things) that surround us mean that they represent the new interests that the artist transforms into meanings and symbols after he invests them as aesthetic visual formations. Art establishes a reality other than the one that was established by (the body), which is always subject to a system of deliberative relations, and in general we can diagnose it in three paths, it is either linked to what represents the changing objective reality with the change of general systems or causes them, or it is a subject to the logic of general thought in its changing space-time limits, or it is a subject to the principle of benefit and ad

Suppression of T cell-induced osteoclast formation
...Show More Authors

Inhibition of T cell derived cytokine production could help suppress osteoclast differentiation in inflammatory skeletal disorders. Bisphosphonates are typically prescribed to prevent inflammatory bone loss but are not tolerated by all patients and are associated with an increased risk of osteonecrosis of the jaw. In light of this other anti-resorptives such as phytoestrogens are being considered. However the effect of phytoestrogens on T cell-induced osteoclast formation is unclear. The effect of genistein and coumestrol on activated T cell-induced osteoclastogenesis and cytokine production was therefore examined. Concentrations of genistein and coumestrol (10−7 M) previously shown to directly inhibit osteoclast formation also suppressed

Haemoproteus burhinus is described from the stone curlew, Burhinus oedicnemus saharae (Reichenow) from Al-Attariya, 45 km SE Baghdad city middle of Iraq. It is related to but differs from H. peireci in that it hypertrophied the erythrocyte and the erythrocyte nucleus is always laterally displaced in microgametocytes.
