This study investigates the boundary between the Upper Cretaceous Kometan (Turonian–Campanian) and Shiranish (Late Campanian–Maastrichtian) formations at the Sarchinar and Goizha surface sections in the Sulaymaniyah area, northeastern Iraq, in order to refine their biostratigraphic framework and reconstruct the depositional evolution across the formation boundary. The two formations are characterized by thin- to medium-bedded chalky and marly limestones overlain by blue to grey marls and marly limestones, which record a transition from outer-shelf to upper-bathyal ramp carbonates into deeper hemipelagic basinal deposits within the Zagros fold–thrust belt. A total of 100 rock samples were collected from the exposed successions and were prepared either as washed residues or standard thin sections, allowing for integrated analysis of planktonic foraminifera and microfacies. Planktonic foraminiferal biostratigraphy identifies five biozones within the Kometan and lower Shiranish formations: the Dicarinella primitiva Interval Zone, Dicarinella concavata Interval Zone, Dicarinella asymmetrica Total Range Zone, Globotruncanita elevata Total Range Zone in the uppermost Kometan, and the overlying Globotruncana aegyptiaca Interval Zone at the base of the Shiranish. The absence of the intervening Globotruncana ventricosa and Globotruncanella havanensis zones suggests a short intra-Campanian hiatus or condensed section at the Kometan–Shiranish transition. The combined stratigraphic and biostratigraphic data demonstrate that the contact is generally unconformable in the studied sections, thus providing a key reference for constraining the Late Cretaceous tectono-stratigraphic evolution of the northeastern Arabian Plate margin in Iraq.
Generally, different propositions show that culture changes because of many factors, and acculturation has emerged out of important operations which lead to cultural change as a result of contact between different societies or cultures. Since the cultural environment with its varying effects plays a major role in the formulation of architectural products, the research defined its research problem as follows: There is need for knowledge to specify the results of acculturation at the level of plans of house architecture belong to Iraqi elites in Baghdad city during the late Ottoman rule in Iraq(1830-1917). The research depends on the comparative procedure to define the acculturation results, so the plans character of

A sample of (40) students were chosen intentionally from middle school students in two schools (almntzr- zany aleabdyn) with an average of (20) students from each school. They were evenly distributed in two experimental and control groups. To achieve the aims of the research, a scale was designed to measure the recall habits, and a preparation of an educational program to develop recall habits.
To process data statistically, the researcher used several statistical methods such as Pearson correlation coefficient, chi-square, T-test for one sample, T-test for two independent samples, Wilcoxon test, Mann-Whitney test, ET

Rarely, it occurs in juveniles and adults. The diagnosis is difficult and still remains to challenge the clinicians on the basis of history; hence the role of imaging is very essential. It is the neuroimaging, chiefly the Magnetic Resonance Imaging showing characteristic symmetrical necrotic lesions in the basal ganglia and/or brain stem that leads to the diagnosis. Late-onset varieties are rare and only few cases were reported all over the world. Here, I report a case of late onset (juvenile) Leigh syndrome presenting with an acute polyneuropathy. Show MoreThis paper investigates an effective computational method (ECM) based on the standard polynomials used to solve some nonlinear initial and boundary value problems appeared in engineering and applied sciences. Moreover, the effective computational methods in this paper were improved by suitable orthogonal base functions, especially the Chebyshev, Bernoulli, and Laguerre polynomials, to obtain novel approximate solutions for some nonlinear problems. These base functions enable the nonlinear problem to be effectively converted into a nonlinear algebraic system of equations, which are then solved using Mathematica®12. The improved effective computational methods (I-ECMs) have been implemented to solve three applications involving nonli

Show MoreThe aim of this book is to present a method for solving high order ordinary differential equations with two point boundary condition of the different kind, we propose semi-analytic technique using two-point osculatory interpolation to construct polynomial solution. The original problem is concerned using two-points osculatory interpolation with the fit equal numbers of derivatives at the end points of an interval [0 , 1] . Also, we discussion the existence and uniqueness of solutions and many examples are presented to demonstrate the applicability, accuracy and efficiency of the methods by compared with conventional method .i.e. VIDM , Septic B-Spline , , NIM , HPM, Haar wavelets on one hand and to confirm the order convergence on the other

The study considers the behavior of concrete and reinforcing steel under different strain rates. A computer program has been written to compute the curvature ductility taking into account the spalling in concrete cover. Strain rate sensitive constitutive models of steel and concrete were used for predicting the moment-curvature relationship of reinforced concrete columns at different rate of straining. The study parameters are the yield strength of main reinforcement, yield strength of transverse reinforcement, compressive strength of concrete, spacing of ties and the axial load. The results indicated that hi

Show MoreThis study has been undertaken to investigate the mineralogical properties and morphological features of sand fraction in some soils of Baghdad / Iraq. The morphological features of sand fractions were studied by Polarized optical microscope. Results have shown that the grains of these minerals from samples of sands have different colors, those from the surface horizons have dark brownish spots, due to staining by organic matter, and have a yellowish– to yellowish brown spots due to accumulation of Iron oxides. Results of light minerals indicated that quartz is dominant due to effect of parent material of these soils. Two types of opaque minerals (black and brown) are found, whereas t
A preventing shield for neutrons and gamma rays was designed using alternate layers of water and iron with pre-fixed dimensions in order to study the possibility of attenuating both neutrons and gamma-rays. ANISN CODE was prepared and adapted for the shield calculation using radiation doses calculation: Two groups of cross-section were used for each of neutrons and gamma-rays that rely on the one – dimensional transport equation using discrete ordinate's method, and through transforming cross-section values to values that are independent on the number of groups. The memory size required for the applied code was reduced and the results obtained were in agreement with those of standard acceptable document samples of cross –section, this a

Four major paleoenvironments were recognized within the studied succession, there are: Shallow open marine environment, shoal environment, deep marine environment, and basinal environment. They reflect deposition on a carbonate platform of homoclinal ramp setting. The studied succession represents two second order supersequences (A) and (B). Supersequence (A) includes both the Khasib and Tanuma formations. The Saadi Formation represents cycle (B). These second order cycles can be divided each into two third order cycles, This subdivision may reflect the effect of eustacy being the major controlling factor of cycles dev
