Cyberbullying among academically superior students
...Show More Authors

Results: The results summarized two goals, the first goal stipulates (to identify the degree of cyberbullying among academically outstanding students in the middle school stage). To achieve this goal, the researchers applied the research tool (electronic bullying scale) and then extracted the arithmetic mean for the sample of the current research, which amounted to (6.28) with a standard deviation of (4.03). Then the researchers applied the t-test for one sample to identify the significance of the differences between the means. The arithmetic mean for the sample and the hypothetical (theoretical) mean, which amounted to (11.5) degrees, and after applying the T-test for one sample, it was found that the calculated T-value, which amounted to (10.02), is greater than the tabulated T-value of (2) at the significance level (0.05) and a degree of freedom (149), which is statistically significant, which indicates the significance of the differences between the arithmetic mean and the theoretical (hypothetical) mean, and in favor of the arithmetic mean for the sample of academically excellent students, which indicates that there is a statistically significant difference in favor of the hypothetical mean in the sample of the current research. The second goal stipulates (to identify the degree of cyberbullying among academically outstanding students according to gender (males – females). The researchers extracted the arithmetic means and standard deviations for both males and females. The arithmetic mean for males was (6.43) with a standard deviation of (4.87) and the arithmetic mean for females was (6.13) with a standard deviation of (3.03). After applying the T-test for two independent samples, it was found that the calculated T-value of (0.286) is smaller than the tabulated T-value of (2) at a significance level of (0.05) and a degree of freedom (148), which indicates that there are no statistically significant differences between Males and females. This is due to the nature of bullying behavior and its availability in both gender (males and females).

Serum Chitotriosidase level as a Novel Biomarker for Therapeutic Monitoring of Nephropathic Cystinosis among the Iraqi children
...Show More Authors

Background: Cystinosis is a rare autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disease with high morbidity and mortality. It is caused by mutations in the CTNS gene that encodes the cystine transporter, cystinosin, which leads to lysosomal cystine accumulation. It is the major cause of inherited Fanconi syndrome, and should be suspected in young children with failure to thrive and signs of renal proximal tubular damage. The diagnosis can be missed in infants, because not all signs of renal Fanconi syndrome are present during the first months of life. Elevated white blood cell cystine content is the cornerstone of the diagnosis. Since chitotriosidase (CHIT1 or chitinase-1) is mainly produced by activated macrophages both in normal and inflammator

...Show More Authors
Abstract
<title>Background:

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a progressive and chronic disease manifested by β-cell dysfunction and improved insulin resistance. Higher levels of urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptors have been found to predict morbidity and mortality among diabetic patients with cardiac disease.

Objective:

This study aims to explore the role of serum urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor levels as a prognostic marker among type 2 diabetic Iraqi patients.

Hormonal and biochemical factors among chronic liver disease men infected with Toxoplasmosis and some protozoan intestinal parasites
...Show More Authors

Chronic liver disease (CLD) can potentially cause disruptions in the normal functioning of various endocrine organs responsible for producing hormones. As a result, individuals suffering from CLD may experience fluctuations or imbalances in the levels of certain hormones within their bodies. As well as they frequently have suppressed immune systems making them more vulnerable to parasite infections. The primary objective of this study was to investigate the association between Toxoplasma gondii infections and liver function by analyzing the interplay between these parasites and hormones. This study was conducted in Baghdad, Iraq from December 2021 to May 2022. One hundred and twenty male patients with Chronic liver disease (CLD) (ag
