... Show MoreThis research involves the synthesis of some sulphanyl benzimidazole derivatives (Ia-c), which were prepared from reaction of 2-mercaptobenzimidazole substituted benzyl halide, and structures were identified by spectral methods[FTIR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR].These compounds were investigated as corrosion inhibitors for carbon steel in 1M H2SO4 solution using weight loss, potentiostatic polarization methods; obtained results showed that the sulphanyl benzimidazole derivatives retard both cathodic and anodic reactions in acidic media, by virtue of adsorption on the carbon steel surface. This adsorption obeyed Langmuir’s adsorption isotherm. The inhibition efficiency of (Ia-c) ranging between (65-92) %. By using different Ib derivative conc
... Show More Sixteen new complexes with the general formula [M(L)2(H2O)2] were prepared resulting from the reaction of the two new Schiff base ligands, which are: - L1= (E)-5-((2-hydroxybenzylidene)amino)-2-phenyl-2,4-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one) L2 = (E)-5-((2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)amino)-2-phenylpyrazolidin-3-one) With divalent metal ions (manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, cadmium, mercury) and (tetravalent platinum). Ligands was derived from the reaction of the amine (5-amino-2-phenyl-2,4-dihydro-3H-pyrazol-3-one) with Salicylaldehyde and ortho-vanillin, which is linked to the metal ions via the nitrogen atoms are the isomethene group and the oxygen is the hydroxide group of t

Show MoreThe M(II) complexes [M2 (phen)2 (L)(H2O)2Cl2 ] in (2:1:2 (M:L:phen) molar ratio, (where M(II) =Mn(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II) and Hg(II), phen = 1,10-phenanthroline; L = 2,2'-(1Z,1'Z)-(biphenyl-4,4'-diylbis(azan-1-yl-1-ylidene))bis(methan-1-yl-1- ylidene)diphenol] were synthesized. The mixed complexes have been prepared and characterized using 1H and13C NMR, UV/Visible, FTIR spectra methods and elemental microanalysis, as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. The metal complexes were tested in vitro against three types of pathogenic bacteria microorganisms: Staphylococcus aurous, Escherichia coli, Bacillussubtilis and Pseudomonasaeroginosa to assess their antimicrobial properties. From this study shows that all the

The researcher has analyzed 110 studies -75 foreign and 35 Arabic - to determine, describe and evaluate the key research trends which came in Arabic and foreign agenda-setting studies. The results confirmed that studies of the agenda theory are increasing steadily worldwide with diversity in the theoretical trends and used research tools. In addition, primary studies focus on content analysis and the survey approach (method). Also, most Arabic agenda-setting studies used the traditional methods and k
Summary The aim of this study is the evaluation the resistance of S. marcescence obtained from soil and water to metals chlorides (Zn+2, Hg+2, Fe+2, Al+3, and Pb+2). Four isolates, identified as Serratia marcescence and S. marcescena (S4) were selected for this study according to their resistance to five heavy metals. The ability of S. marcescena (S4) to grow in different concentrations of metals chloride (200-1200 µg/ml) was tested, the highest concentration that S. marcescence (S4) tolerate was 1000 µg/ml for Zn+2, Hg+2, Fe+2, AL+3, pb+2 and 300 µg/ml for Hg+2 through 24 hrs incubation at 37 Co. The effects of temperature and pH on bacteria growth during 72 hrs were also studied. S. marcescence (S4) was affected by ZnCl2, PbCl2, FeC12

Show MoreThe formation of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cd(II)-complexes (C1-C5) respectively was studied with new Schiff base ligand [benzyl(2-hydroxy-1-naphthalidene) hydrazine carbodithioate derived from reaction of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and benzyl hydrazine carbodithioate. The suggested structures of the ligand and its complexes have been determined by using C.H.N.S analyzer, thermal analysis, FT-IR, U.V-Visible, 1HNMR, 13CNMR , conductivity measurement , magnetic susceptibility and atomic absorption. According to these studies, the ligand coordinates as a tridentate with metal ions through nitrogen atom of azomethane , oxygen atom of hydroxyl, and sulfur atom of thione

In this work we made an attempt to know the quantity of six heavy metals in groundwater in different locations of Baghdad city. Examinations were made on groundwater of the review region to assess the heavy metals. Groundwater samples were gathered and analyzed utilizing Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer for their Manganese, Iron, Zinc, Cadmium, Copper and Lead content and their levels compared with World Health Organization (WHO) specified maximum contaminant level. In order to accomplish this, water samples were obtained from 10 randomly selected wells in the region, in February and August, 2016. The study showed that the ground
