   In the present work, radium (²²⁶Ra), thorium (²³²Th), potassium (⁴⁰ K), and cesium (¹³⁷Cs) (Bq/kg) was measured for 24 soil samples of some districts of Al-Doura city in Baghdad governorate. The gamma spectrometry method with NaI (Tl) detector was used for radiometric measurements. The average values of specific activity for   ²²⁶Ra, ²³²Th, ⁴⁰K and ¹³⁷Cs in soil samples were 38.03, 42.48, 16.34 and 2.76 Bq/kg, respectively. Some of metal compounds have been synthesized of record ligand from aldehid interaction of a substance which is salicyladehyde with another material which is urea. During the analysis of the metal component, The prepared complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR ,UV-visible , conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements. this confirms the ratio[1:1] between the metal and ligand. The ascaroid nematode Contracaecum rudolphii was recovered in large numbers from the
digestive tract of Phalacrocorax carbo collected in Baghdad area, Central Iraq. The infection
rates of the two sexes of the bird and some meristic and morphometric characters of the
parasite that allowed species determination of the nematode Contracaecum rudolphii were
discussed. This finding represents a new host record for this nematode in Iraq.
