Computer Literacy with Skills of Seeking for Information Electronically among University Students

Computer literacy is an urgent necessity for university students, given the rapid development in the means of communication in which we live in this era, and the flow of abundant information. Mainly on the computer in all administrative and academic transactions, where first of all the registration for the semester is done through the computer. Computer culture has many characteristics and advantages that distinguish it from other sciences, includ-ing the concept of computer culture that cannot be defined absolutely, and it is difficult to define its levels, because the specifications of the computer-educated individual differ from one individual to another, and from time to time also, you find it a luxury in a country What, and you find it necessary in another country. In order to measure and know the level of computer cul-ture among university students, a computerized scale of (40) items with five multiple-choice alternatives was built. In order to know that they have the skills of searching for information electronically, a computerized scale of (21) items was prepared, and a five-point Likert scale was adopted. Results showed that they have computer literacy and therefore they have skills of searching for information electronically at all.

Mapping groundwater quality Index for irrigation in the Dibdibba aquifer at Karbala - Najaf plateau, central of Iraq

Mapping groundwater quality Index for irrigation is of great importance for agricultural issues. As groundwater is a vital source of water for domestic and agricultural activities in Iraqi Western Desert area, where the study area (Dibdibba aquifer) represents the extreme eastern part of it, evaluation of groundwater quality and its suitability for irrigation is important. This study aims to develop decision support tools for identifying the optimal locations of groundwater regarding its quality to meet the future demands of the study area. Samples were collected during the wet season (April-May 2017 (and analyzed for determining the physicochemical  properties. The indices used in the quality assessment were the sodium adsorption r

Thermal Effects of 940 nm Diode Laser on Dental Socket Blood after Teeth Extraction for Diabetic Patients

Abstract: Background: High percentage of diabetes patients complain from post extraction hemorrhage. Many types of hemostatic materials are used to stop bleeding after teeth extraction: diode lasers are good hemostatic agents owing to their highly absorption by hemoglobin therefore they are used in soft tissue procedures with relatively no effects on dental hard tissues due to their poorly absorption by water and hydroxyapatite. Objectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficiency of diode laser to assist the clot formation after tooth extraction for type II diabetes patients with minimum temperature elevation to prevent periodontal destruction. Materials and methods: From 12 type II diabetes patients (7 males and 5 females wi

Studying The Necessary Optimality Conditions and Approximates a Class of Sum Two Caputo–Katugampola Derivatives for FOCPs

In this paper, the necessary optimality conditions are studied and derived for a new class of the sum of two Caputo–Katugampola fractional derivatives of orders (α, ρ) and( β,ρ) with fixed the final boundary conditions. In the second study, the approximation of the left Caputo-Katugampola fractional derivative was obtained by using the shifted Chebyshev polynomials. We also use the Clenshaw and Curtis formula to approximate the integral from -1 to 1. Further, we find the critical points using the Rayleigh–Ritz method. The obtained approximation of the left fractional Caputo-Katugampola derivatives was added to the algorithm applied to the illustrative example so that we obtained the approximate results for the stat

Synthesis of nano-magnetite and magnetite/synthetic geopolymer nano-porous composite for application as a novel adsorbent

In this work magnetite/geopolymer composite (MGP) were synthesized using a chemical co-precipitation technique. The synthesized materials were characterized using several techniques such as: “X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), vibrating sample-magnetometer (VSM), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) and Barrentt-Joyner-Halenda (BJH)” to determine the structure and morphology of the obtained material. The analysis indicated that metal oxide predominantly appeared at the shape of the spinel structure of magnetite, and that the presence of nano-magnetite had a substantial impact on the surface area and pore st

Applying Geoaccumulation Index and Enrichment Factor for Assessing Metal Contamination in the Sediments of Euphrates River, Iraq

The current study looked into heavy metal poisoning of the Euphrates river which runs from Al-Kifl to Kufa in Iraq. One of the goals of this research was to determine the pollution levels and the contamination sources. We looked at six heavy metal (Cd, Pb, Zn, Cr, Fe, and Mn) characteristics in sediment, taking samples from six sites along the Euphrates every season from March 2020 to January 2021. To assess pollution levels, three indices were chosen: enrichment factor (EF), geo-accumulation index (I-geo) and contamination factor (CF). According to EF, the Cd and Pb elements recorded considerable enrichment, very high enrichment and extremely high pollution at practically all sites in four seasons, while the remainder of the HMs recorde

Design and Performance Analysis of Spiral Solar Water Heater Using Iron Plate/Sand Absorber for Domestic Use

The sun which is all energy sources, in today's society, hot water is used for various purposes starting from household to power production. People are adopting various ways to accomplish these goals, such as firewood heat and electrical power, so solar energy is an alternative to the dwindling resources of fossil fuels. Conversion of solar radiation into heat is one of the simplest and most direct applications of this energy, it can be used to heat water systems. A widely used flat-plate solar collector. In this study we have come to heat water using solar energy. This research presents the design and experimental analysis for using Spiral Flow Solar Water Heater (SFSWH) to enhance the thermal efficiency of a flat plate solar collector.

An Artificial Neural Network for Predicting Rate of Penetration in AL- Khasib Formation – Ahdeb Oil Field

The main objective of this study is to develop a rate of penetration (ROP) model for Khasib formation in Ahdab oil field and determine the drilling parameters controlling the prediction of ROP values by using artificial neural network (ANN).

An Interactive Petrophysical software was used to convert the raw dataset of transit time (LAS Readings) from parts of meter-to-meter reading with depth. The IBM SPSS statistics software version 22 was used to create an interconnection between the drilling variables and the rate of penetration, detection of outliers of input parameters, and regression modeling. While a JMP Version 11 software from SAS Institute Inc. was used for artificial neural modeling.

Fitting Scoring Rubrics for Electronic Portfolio to Partial Credit Model According to the Number of Assumed Dimensions

Abstract

The current research aims to reveal the extent to which all scoring rubrics data for the electronic work file conform to the partial estimation model according to the number of assumed dimensions. The study sample consisted of (356) female students. The study concluded that the list with the one-dimensional assumption is more appropriate than the multi-dimensional assumption, The current research recommends preparing unified correction rules for the different methods of performance evaluation in the basic courses. It also suggests the importance of conducting studies aimed at examining the appropriateness of different evaluation methods for models of response theory to the

High performance liquid chromatographic method for the determination of guaifenesin in pharmaceutical syrups and in environmental samples

A simple, precise, rapid, and accurate reversed – phase high performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed for the determination of guaifenesin in pure from pharmaceutical formulations.andindustrial effluent. Chromatography was carried out on supelco L7 reversed- phase column (25cm × 4.6mm), 5 microns, using a mixture of methanol –acetonitrile-water: (80: 10 :10 v/v/v) as a mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 ml.min-1. Detection was performed at 254nm at ambient temperature. The retention time for guaifenesin was found 2.4 minutes. The calibration curve was linear (r= 0.9998) over a concentration range from 0.08 to 0.8mg/ml. Limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification ( LOQ) were found 6µg/ml and 18µg/ml res
