HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY FOR THE ANALYSIS OF AMOXICILLIN, AZITHROMYCIN AND PENICILLIN IN RIVER HOSPITAL WASTE
...Show More Authors

The most hazardous class of pharmaceuticals for soil and aquatic ecosystems are antibiotics, which include prescription medications and cancer treatments. Hospital effluents are usually produced by all parts of medical facilities, including hospitals. This study's specific goal was to provide a quick, affordable, and accurate analytical technique for determining the levels of amoxicillin, azithromycin, and penicillin in wastewater from Medical City, Al-Mahmudiya, and Al-Yarmouk hospitals (Iraq, Baghdad). An HPLC with a receptive ODS C18 column was used. It was equipped with UV and pulsed amperometric detectors with wavelengths of 230 nm and 210-240 nm, respectively. The correlation coefficients for each drug are greater than 0.9999, indicating that the approach is linear within the given range. It was evident that the limit of detection and limit of quantification for amoxicillin, azithromycin, and penicillin, respectively, were 0.103 µg/mL, 0.312 µg/mL, 0.069 µg/mL, and 0.211 µg/mL, and 0.086 µg/mL, 0.262 µg/mL. Ultimately, these results show that all wastewater samples from Medical City Hospital contain the three antibiotics amoxicillin, azithromycin, and penicillin. However, the Al-Mahmudiya sample had higher levels of penicillin and the Al-Yarmouk sample had lower levels of amoxicillin when compared to Medical City. The suggested method applies to a wide range of healthcare products used in a variety of effluent sources, including medical facilities and manufacturing environments. For citation: Jasim M. S. ...Show More Authors

Background: Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia is a common disease in neonates especially in early days of birth that requires a good and successful treatment for reducing the severity and its complications that can produce important and irreversible effects.

Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of conventional phototherapy, intensive phototherapy and exchange transfusion on outcomes of neonatal jaundice at Fatima Al-Zahra Hospital for maternity and child care in Baghdad.

Patients & Methods: A retrospective study was carried out using medical records of neonates with diagnosis of unconjugated jaundice, admitted in the septic neonatal care unit of Fatima Al-Zahra hospital over 6 months period b

A Review of the Use of Artificial Intelligence Algorithms for Predicting Injuries and Performance in Football Players
...Show More Authors

The purpose of this study is to investigate the research on artificial intelligence algorithms in football, specifically in relation to player performance prediction and injury prevention. To accomplish this goal, scholarly resources including Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Springer, and Scopus were used to provide a systematic examination of research done during the last ten years (2015–2025). Through a systematic procedure that included data collection, study selection based on predetermined criteria, categorisation based on AI applications in football, and assessment of major research problems, trends, and prospects, almost fifty papers were found and analysed. Summarising AI applications in football for performance and injury p

Thermal and flow performance analysis of a concentrated linear Fresnel solar collector with transverse ribs
...Show More Authors

This article deals with the impact of including transverse ribs within the absorber tube of the concentrated linear Fresnel collector (CLFRC) system with a secondary compound parabolic collector (CPC) on thermal and flow performance coefficients. The enhancement rates of heat transfer due to varying governing parameters were compared and analyzed parametrically at Reynolds numbers in the range 5,000–13,000, employing water as the heat transfer fluid. Simulations were performed to solve the governing equations using the finite volume method (FVM) under various boundary conditions. For all Reynolds numbers, the average Nusselt number in the circular tube in the CLFRC system with ribs was found to be larger than that of the plain abs

EXHAUST ANALYSIS AND PERFORMANCE OF A SINGLE CYLINDER DIESEL ENGINE RUN ON DUAL FUELS MODE
...Show More Authors

Generally fossil based fuels are used in internal combustion engines as an energy source.
Excessive use of fossil based fuels diminishes present reserves and increases the air pollution in
urban areas. This enhances the importance of the effective use of present reserves and/or to develop
new alternative fuels, which are environment friendly. Use of alternative fuel is a way of emission
control. The term “Alternative Gaseous Fuels” relates to a wide range of fuels that are in the
gaseous state at ambient conditions, whether when used on their own or as components of mixtures
with other fuels.
In this study, a single cylinder diesel engine was modified to use LPG in dual fuel mode to study
the performance, emis

Performance Analysis of a Solar Cooling System with Equal and Unequal Adsorption/Desorption Operating Time
...Show More Authors

In solar-thermal adsorption/desorption processes, it is not always possible to preserve equal operating times for the adsorption/desorption modes due to the fluctuating supply nature of the source which largely affects the system’s operating conditions. This paper seeks to examine the impact of adopting unequal adsorption/desorption times on the entire cooling performance of solar adsorption systems. A cooling system with silica gel–water as adsorbent-adsorbate pair has been built and tested under the climatic condition of Iraq. A mathematical model has been established to predict the system performance, and the results are successfully validated via the experimental findings. The results show that, the system can be operational

Strength Training and its Effect in Some Biochemical Variables in the High Jumping of Advanced Players
...Show More Authors

The study of biomechanical indicators in the arc of the run and the upgrading stage is one of the important variables that affect the nature of the upgrading and thus affect the result of the race due to the importance of these stages and the consequent variables during the last steps. That’s why, the jump-trainings based on assistant means or body weight positively affect the step-time for each of the three steps in the acceleration arc. As well as, it focuses on the momentary strength of each step at this stage. It also significantly affects the speed of motor performance to suit the activity in which the runner needs to perform perfect steps with high flow in order to convert the horizontal speed to a vertical one. This is achieved thr

Utilizing waste mango and avocado seeds for highly effective dye removal with activated carbon
...Show More Authors

Activated carbon (AC) is a highly important adsorbent material, as it is a solid form of pure carbon that boasts a porous structure and a large surface area, making it effective for capturing pollutants. Thanks to its exceptional features, AC is widely used for purifying water that is contaminated with odors and removing dyes in a cost-effective manner. A variety of carbonic materials have been employed to prepare AC, and this study aimed to evaluate the suitability of utilizing waste mango and avocado seeds for this purpose, followed by testing their efficacy in removing dye from aqueous solutions. The results indicate that using waste mango and avocado as AC is technically feasible, achieving dye removal percentages of 98% and 93%,
