HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY FOR THE ANALYSIS OF AMOXICILLIN, AZITHROMYCIN AND PENICILLIN IN RIVER HOSPITAL WASTE
...Show More Authors

The most hazardous class of pharmaceuticals for soil and aquatic ecosystems are antibiotics, which include prescription medications and cancer treatments. Hospital effluents are usually produced by all parts of medical facilities, including hospitals. This study's specific goal was to provide a quick, affordable, and accurate analytical technique for determining the levels of amoxicillin, azithromycin, and penicillin in wastewater from Medical City, Al-Mahmudiya, and Al-Yarmouk hospitals (Iraq, Baghdad). An HPLC with a receptive ODS C18 column was used. It was equipped with UV and pulsed amperometric detectors with wavelengths of 230 nm and 210-240 nm, respectively. The correlation coefficients for each drug are greater than 0.9999, indicating that the approach is linear within the given range. It was evident that the limit of detection and limit of quantification for amoxicillin, azithromycin, and penicillin, respectively, were 0.103 µg/mL, 0.312 µg/mL, 0.069 µg/mL, and 0.211 µg/mL, and 0.086 µg/mL, 0.262 µg/mL. Ultimately, these results show that all wastewater samples from Medical City Hospital contain the three antibiotics amoxicillin, azithromycin, and penicillin. However, the Al-Mahmudiya sample had higher levels of penicillin and the Al-Yarmouk sample had lower levels of amoxicillin when compared to Medical City. The suggested method applies to a wide range of healthcare products used in a variety of effluent sources, including medical facilities and manufacturing environments. For citation: Jasim M. S. Equilibrium and kinetic modeling studies for the adsorption-desorption of methyl violet 10B onto leather waste
...Show More Authors

In this study, vegetable tanned leather waste of cow (VTLW-C) is used as adsorbent for removing methyl violet 10B dye from aqueous solution. The VTLW-C adsorbent was characterized by FTIR and SEM in order to evaluate its surface properties before using in adsorption experiments. Batch adsorption method was applied to study the effect of different factors such as weight of leather waste, time of shaking, and starting concentration of methyl violet 10B dye. Different isothermal models such as Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D–R) were used to analyze the experimental data. Kinetic study proceeds using (PFO) kinetic model and (PSO) kinetic model. The results showed better agreement with the Freundlich model; this means

The Effect of The Utilitarian Need For the High Water Tanks Towers to Sustain Life in the City
...Show More Authors

The service system has become a necessity of life in modern cities to be the most basic necessities of modern humans, they constitute a major base, which is based on the sustainability of life in the city and a standard measured through the degree of well-being and progress of civilized peoples and their interaction with the surrounding environment, making the services sector as a need not be an option, whenever the cities widened in population and space whenever provision of services and upgrading the quality and quantity more pressing, which made the subject of the services takes the biggest area of the trends and thinking of urban planners and those who in charge of drawing the cities policies. Matrix Form of Deriving High Order Schemes for the First Derivative
...Show More Authors

For many problems in Physics and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), providing an accurate approximation of derivatives is a challenging task. This paper presents a class of high order numerical schemes for approximating the first derivative. These approximations are derived based on solving a special system of equations with some unknown coefficients. The construction method provides numerous types of schemes with different orders of accuracy. The accuracy of each scheme is analyzed by using Fourier analysis, which illustrates the dispersion and dissipation of the scheme. The polynomial technique is used to verify the order of accuracy of the proposed schemes by obtaining the error terms. Dispersion and dissipation errors are calculated

Investigation of the Impact of Glass Waste in Reactive Powder Concrete on Attenuation Properties for Bremsstrahlung Ray
...Show More Authors

Reactive Powder Concrete (RPC) is one of the most advanced recent high compressive strength concrete. This work explored the effects of using glass waste as a fractional replacement for fine aggregate in reactive powder concrete at levels of 0%, 25%, 50%, and 100%. Linear and mass attenuation coefficients have been calculated as a function of the sample's thickness and bremsstrahlung energy. These coefficients were obtained using energy selective scintillation response to bremsstrahlung having an energy ranging from (0.1-1.1) MeV. In addition, the half-value thickness of the samples prepared has been investigated. It was found that there is a reversal association between the attenuation coefficient and the energy of the bremsstrahlu

Assessing of the Morphology and Sediment Transport of Diyala River
...Show More Authors

Diyala River is one of the important rivers that provide water for the Governorate of Diyala. In this research, the morphology and sediment transport of this river were studied using HEC-Ras software. The selected length of the river in the present study is 193 km and extended from Diyala Weir to the confluence of Tigris River and Diyala River. The fieldwork period extended from June 2020 till August 2020, where suspended-load and bed-load samples were collected and surveyed some cross-sections. The one-dimensional sediment transport model has been calibrated for five years, from 2014 to 2019. The results were compared with the measured cross-sections in 2019,  and the suitable value of (maximum depth
