The effect of Laser Shock Peening on Fatigue Life Using Pure Water and Hydrofluoric Acid As a Confining Layer of Al – Alloy 7075-T6
...Show More Authors

Laser shock peening (LSP) is deemed as a deep-rooted technology for stimulating compressive residual stresses below the surface of metallic elements. As a result, fatigue lifespan is improved, and the substance properties become further resistant to wear and corrosion. The LSP provides more unfailing surface treatment and a potential decrease in microstructural damage. Laser shock peening is a well-organized method measured up to the mechanical shoot peening. This kind of surface handling can be fulfilled via an intense laser pulse focused on a substantial surface in extremely shorter intervals. In this work, Hydrofluoric Acid (HF) and pure water as a coating layer were utilized as a new technique to improve the properti

Synthesis of new derivatives of Ceftazidime as possible Prodrugs
...Show More Authors

Five new ceftazidime derivatives were designed and synthesized in an attempt to improve the acid stability and may increase the spectrum of ceftazidime. The synthesized compounds included;  Schiff base of ceftazidime (compound 1), ceftazidime lysine amide Schiff base (compound 2), ceftazidime lysine amide (compound 3), ceftazidime-di-lysine amide Schiff base (compound 4) and ceftazidime-di-lysine amide (compound 5). New ceftazidime derivatives were successfully prepared characterized and identified using spectral and elemental microanalysis (CHNS) analyses and the results comply with the calculated measurements.

Compounds 1 and 2 were subjected to a stability study in phosphate buffer (0.2M, pH 7.4) and in KCl/HCl buffer (0.

The impact of a practical treatment program in enabling victims of bullying in a sample of 6th graders
...Show More Authors

This study was aimed to explore the impact of a practical program on supporting and reducing
symptoms of school bulling victims in a sample of student in the sixth grade. The study sample consisted of (18)
students that have been chosen from two schools (Al-Abass and Alataa’) it was an intended sample, because
there were enough student with high scores in bulling victims diagnostics test, the sample was divided into two
groups: the control group of (9) student from (Alataa’) school, and the experimental group consisted of (9)
student from Alabass) school keeping in mind to keep the two groups equivalent in maintaining equal controls.
The researcher applied the practical program which is based on cognitive behavioral

Adenine as Environmentally- Friendly Corrosion Inhibitor for Stainless Steel in Sodium Chloride Acid Solution
...Show More Authors

The corrosion behavior and the influence of the concentration of adenine (AD) on the corrosion of 316L stainless steel in 0.6 mol.dm-3 sodium chloride acid solutions were studied. The research was performed in two pH values (pH=2 and pH=4) over the temperature range (293- 308)K. The investigation involved electrochemical polarization method using potentiostatic technique. Tafel polarization study revealed that (AD) acted as a mixed inhibitor. The inhibition efficiency increased with an increase in the concentration of adenine, but decreased with increase in temperature. (efficiency= 87% at 0.01 M AD & at T= 293K). The adsorption of (AD) has been found to occur on the surface of 316L stainless steel according to the Langmuir isotherm.

Retinoic Acid Treatment of Human Hematological Malignancies Induces Caspase Dependent and Independent Apoptotic Cell Death
...Show More Authors

The unprejudiced of this education is to gauge the ability of the retinoic acid to induce apoptotic cell death in hematological tumors through caspase dependent or independent apoptotic pathway, The cytotoxicity effects of retinoic acid of different concentrations (400,350,300,250,200,150,100,50,25,12.5 μg\ml) and exposure for all hematological malignancy cell lines (Human non-Hodgkin lymphoma SR and human multiple myeloma (COLO 677) and Human Monocytic Leukemia THP1 and Acute promyelocytic leukemia NB4) have been determined using a microtetrazolium (MTT) assay. Propodeum iodide and alcidine orange (AO/PI) paired discoloration was used to study the ability of retinoic acid to induce apoptosis in the infected cells and examined under fluore

Anticancer Mechanisms of Zoledronic Acid-Based Graphene Oxide Nanoparticles for Prostate Cancer Bone Metastases Treatment
...Show More Authors

Bone metastases are the main reason for death in males suffering from advanced prostate cancer. This study aimed to create zoledronic acid and graphene oxide conjugation for anticancer therapy. The process of conjugation was confirmed by several characterization methods including UV-VIS spectrophotometry, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and atomic force microscope (AFM). the cytotoxicity of 400, 600, and 800 μg/ml to each GO, ZOL, and ZOL-GO was evaluated on a human hepatic cell line (WRL 68) and human prostate cancer cell line (PC3) using an MTT assay. The antitumor mechanisms of ZOL-GO were examined by cell cycle analysis. The results demonstrated That ZOL-GO caused a reduction in the cell viability of WRL 68

Synthesis, Characterization and Evaluation of Some Meldrum's Acid Derivatives as Lubricant Additives
...Show More Authors

Aminomethylene Meldrum’s acid derivatives were synthesized by a three-component, one-pot reaction of Meldrum's acid with triethyl orthoformate and different aromatic amines. The prepared compounds were characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR and 13C NMR) and evaluated as anti-corrosion and anti-rust additives by blending with base lubricating oil, according to the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM-D130 and ASTM-D665). The blends of the synthesized compounds with the base lubricating oil showed better anti-rust and anti-corrosion effects than the base oil Blank).

Experimental Evaluation for the Inhibition of Carbon Steel Corrosion in Salt and Acid Media by New Derivative of Quinolin-2-One
...Show More Authors

The inhibition ability of the new derivative (quinolin-2-one), namely (1-{[5-(2-Chloro-phenylazo)-2- hydroy-benzylidene]-amino}-4,7-dimethyl -6-nitro- 1H-quinolin-2-one (CPHAQ2O)) towards carbon steel corrosion in (3.5% NaCl) and (0.5M HCl) solutions were evaluated by potentiodynamic polarization at different inhibitor concentrations. Polarization curves showed that the evaluated compound acted as mixed inhibitors, and the adsorption of the evaluated inhibitor obeys the Langmuir adsorption isotherm in both salt and acid solutions. The results revealed that the percentage inhibition efficiency (%IE) in the salty solution (90.55%) is greater than that in the acidic solution (77.62%). The surface changes of the carbon steel and the film per
