New complexes of M(II) with mixed ligand of 5-Chlorosalicylic acid (CSA) C7H5ClO3 as primary ligand and L- Valine (L-Val) C5H11NO2 as a secondary ligand were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis (C.H.N), UV., FT-IR, magnetic susceptibility, μeff (B.M) as well as the conductivity measurements (Λm ). In the complexes, the 5-chlorosalicylic acid is bidentate in all complexes coordinating through –OH- and –COO- groups; also L-Valine behaves as a bidentate ligand in all complexes through –NH2 and –COO- groups. These five mixed ligand complexes formulated as Na3[M(CSA)2(L-Val)]. The proposed molecular structure for all complexes is octahedral geometries. The synthesis complexes were tested in vitro for against four bacteria (2-gram +ve) and (2gram -ve) showing activity similar to that of (L-Val).

Show MoreA new set of metal complexes by the general formula [M(C)2(H2O)2]Cl2 has been prepared through the interaction of the new Ligand [N1, N4-bis(4-chlorophenyl)succinamide] (C) derived from succinyl chloride with 4-Chloroaniline with the transition metal ions Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Hg(II), Cu(II) and Cd(II). Compounds diagnosed by TGA, 1 H, 13CNMR and Mass spectra (for (C)), Fourier-transform infrared and Electronic spectrum, Magnetic measurement, molar conduct, (%M, %C, %H, %N). These measurements indicate that (C) is associated with the metal ion in a bi-dentate fashion by nitrogen atoms (the amide group) and the octahedral composition of these complexes is suggested. The metal complexes of the Schiff base with Mn(II), Hg(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Co(II) metal ions were designed and characterized by magnetic susceptibility, elemental analyses, molar conduction, IR, and 1H NMR,UV-Vis spectral metrics. The UV-Vis. and magnetic susceptibility data of the complexes suggest a square-planar, tetrahedraland octahedral geometries around the central metal ions. All elaborations were accomplished after determination the optimum molar concentration and pH which followed law of Lambert-Beer's in the researches pH scopes. Show MoreThe new azo dye was prepared from the reaction of the diazonium salt derived from 3-aminophenol with 2- hydroxyquinoline, then it was used to prepare a series of complexes with the chlorides of cobalt, chromium, copper, nickel, platinum, palladium and ammonium molybdate. The ligand was identified by a proton and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and the compounds were collected. The prepared materials were subjected to infrared, ultraviolet-visible, and mass spectrometry, as well as thermogravimetric analysis, differential calorimetry, and elemental analysis. Conductivity, magnetic susceptibility, metal content, and chlorine content of the complexes were also measured. The results showed that the ligand behaves in a trigonal b

The complexes of divalent (Co,Ni,Cu,Zn,Cd and Hg) ions and trivalent(Cr) ion have been synthesized and characterized by IR, electronic spectra, molar conductivity, atomic absorption and molar ratio (Ni 2+) complex. The analytical studies for the complexes show; octahedral for (Cr 3+),square planar for (Cu 2+) and (Co,Ni Zn, Cd and Hg) tetrahedral geometries. The study of biological activity of the ligand (L) and its complexes (Co,Ni,Cu,Cd,Hg) in two deferent concentration (1and5) mg/ml showed various acti

Show MoreIn the present work, a first-row divalent d-transition metal obtained from curcumin(Curc) and L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanin(L-dopa)have been synthesized which their complexes and characterized by C.H.N, conductance, spectral methods: FT-IR, Ultra–Visible. Magneto-chemical measurements, molar conductance ΛM (1×10−3 mol/L in DMSO):36- 0.84 ohm-1.cm2.mol-1 (non-electrolyte). The data shows that the complexes have the structure [M((II))-(Curc)-(L-dopa)] system. Electronic and magnetic data suggest an octahedral geometry for all complexes in which the (L-dopa) and curcumin act as bidentate ligands. Curcumin coordinated to the metal ions M (II) through the lone pair of electrons of oxygen in 2(C=O) groups. The (L-dopa) coordinated to M (II) a
