Abstract The avulsion of the flexor digitorum profundus, also known as the jersey finger, is a well-known injury that can be treated surgically. It has been classified into four types, among them type IV which involves tendon avulsion from an associated bony fragment with subsequent retraction to the palm or proximal interphalangeal joint is very rare. We present a case of type IV injury in a 45-year-old man with a pulling-on injury. The repair followed a pull-out technique (reinserting the tendon into the avulsed fragment); the entire reduction was tied over a button on the dorsal aspect of the nail and was augmented with a volar plate. The case was reported due to its rarity. We found that early surgical management of this problem greatly facilitates optimum surgical results and that early rehabilitation is essential for good long-term results.

This research attempts to find the association between single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of IL2+166 gene (rs2069763) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in a sample of Iraqi patients. A total of 44 patients and 55 apparently healthy volunteers were genotyped for the SNP using polymerase chain reaction test. Three genotypes (GG, GT, and TT) corresponding to two alleles (G and T) were found to have SNP. Both study groups’ genotypes had a good agreement for the analysis of Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium. This work investigates generating of pure phase Faujasite-type zeolite Y at the ranges chosen for this study via a static aging step in the absence of seeds synthesis. Nano-sized crystals may result when LUDOX AS-40 is used as a silica source for gel composition of range 6 and the crystallization step may be conducted for a period of 4 to 19 hr at 100 ⁰C. Moreover, large-crystals with high crystallinity pure phase Y zeolite can be obtained at hereinabove conditions but when hydrous sodium metasilicate is used as a silica source. The other selected ranges also offer pure phase Y zeolite at the same controlled conditions.

Background This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of once-daily liraglutide as an add-on to oral antidiabetics (OADs) on glycemic control and body weight in obese patients with inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes (T2D).
