Abstract The avulsion of the flexor digitorum profundus, also known as the jersey finger, is a well-known injury that can be treated surgically. It has been classified into four types, among them type IV which involves tendon avulsion from an associated bony fragment with subsequent retraction to the palm or proximal interphalangeal joint is very rare. We present a case of type IV injury in a 45-year-old man with a pulling-on injury. The repair followed a pull-out technique (reinserting the tendon into the avulsed fragment); the entire reduction was tied over a button on the dorsal aspect of the nail and was augmented with a volar plate. The case was reported due to its rarity. We found that early surgical management of this problem greatly facilitates optimum surgical results and that early rehabilitation is essential for good long-term results.
In this paper the variable structure control theory is utilized to derive a discontinuous controller to the magnetic levitation system. The magnetic levitation system model is considered uncertain, which subjected to the uncertainty in system parameters, also it is open-loop unstable and strongly nonlinear. The proposed variable structure control to magnetic levitation system is proved, and the area of attraction is determined. Additionally, the chattering, which induced due to the discontinuity in control law, is attenuated by using a non-smooth approximate. Show More500 samples of diarrhea stool were collected from different ages(less than 1year –upto30years) and for both genders from some patients in (Alwiya hospital for children, Al-kendi, central health public laboratory and some gavernarated labs) period(1/11/2009—1/10/2010). In this paper two ranking functions are employed to treat the fuzzy multiple objective (FMO) programming model, then using two kinds of membership function, the first one is trapezoidal fuzzy (TF) ordinary membership function, the second one is trapezoidal fuzzy weighted membership function. Bioaccumulation of heavy metals in the terrestrial invertebrates in Al-Jadriyia district Baghdad- Iraq were investigated. Forth terrestrial invertebrates snails, slug, isopods, and diplopods , were selected for this study. The results showed that all invertebrate groups have the ability in accumulate considerable amounts of heavy metals.
